This would be way way more of an overpay compared to what the Cavs paid.

I agree that it’s more, but DMitch has proven he’s a much better player than he was in Utah

We are talking about a trade today not after their first year

Wait what? Has he?

Also this is the second team in a row that he's had to leave because of conflicts and he's not a number one on a title team so I imagine it will be less than 3 years before he wants out of here if we are Zion focused

According to this board, only the value of our players rises while everyone we want to trade for supposedly has stagnant or low value. fricking pels talk man.

Yeah it’ll have to be BI, Herb and 3 picks
For just Mitchell? Idk about that. If its for Mitchell and Allen, then yeah that along with Dyson would probably work.

Herb and Trey are both worth more than any player who went out in that deal, and we're ignoring BI, who is worth a LOT more than any player who went out in that deal
This was 2 years ago, and they had no use for CJ.

You have to give them something they want. This isn't 2k with adjusted trade sliders. That's not how this works.

Who were the young assets we had that they would have wanted other than Herb and Trey?

Trey and Herb weren't really worth much after their first year. I think this is revisionist at its finest.

Only the entire discussion. Other than that, nothing I guess.

We're literally talking about a potential Mitchell trade 2 years ago and have been for probably over 1 page now.

Ok I think I get the other guy's confusion.

I'm not talking about our hypothetical opportunity 2 years ago.

I'm talking about our player assets now v. what Utah actually got for DMitch

Never. It’s quite amusing. I had 3 upvotes and 130+ downvotes saying we should do whatever to get Mitch. And now everyone wants him.

And now I don’t think he’s right for this team at this moment or the cost it would take to get him. So yes, I find it very amusing. Especially if Griff really has interest in him. But maybe it’s just leaked to up his price to other teams.

No seriously. Y'alll got confused. Nowhere did I reference any comparison b/w a hypothetical deal 2 years ago. I compared the actual trade 2 years ago with the value of our assets today.

It just depends on the price. Obviously he's worth more than Trae, so a straight swap for BI is out of the picture. A real 1st and a protected 1st down the road + BI is probably as much as I'd pay.

If we can get Allen, then it gets more interesting.

I still like Mitchell, I just think it will cost us BI and Herb and some firsts, maybe more.

I just think the acquisition costs and fit factored in, Trae is the way to go at this point in time. Like I said before, the time to get Mitch was two years ago.
