Going back to Bugs Bunny & Warner Bros, cartoonists routinely would aim their jokes and gags at kids but there was always a wink & a nod to the parents, older folks who they'd know were also watching. That's what makes such movies and shows 'timeless'. A style that today's studios are actively rejecting, to their own demise.

You have no idea if this is the case in this movie. You are actively making shite up.

Btw Wreck it Ralph 2, the movie yall were bashing because they didn’t make it for adults… it made $529 million at the box office on a $175 million budget. That’s $35 million more than the first.

So maybe yall dk wtf you’re talking about and you have nostalgia towards older Pixar movies because you were YOUNG when they were made

Yeah, so? Everyone who watched Wreck It Ralph wanted a sequel, so I went and watched it. Wasn’t nearly as good as I was hoping.

And the marketing with all the Disney Princesses also made girls force their parents to see it. That’s a moderate Disney success at best, although I’m sure they killed it on the Princess merchandising.

I’m sorry, but this is bullshite. They’re not making movies like WALL-E, Toy Story 3, Inside Out (hopefully I’m wrong here), and Coco, all of which were released when I was an adult.

A bigger why is Toy Story 5. Toy Story's, story ended 2 movies ago.

Nope. That's the furthest from why ever. People have be asking why a sequel for TS since part 2 came out and every single time they've knocked it out of the park. There is no reason to question another Toy Story until they actually put out a bad Toy Story.

Well there is, and it’s because they ruined a perfect ending which was Toy Story 3. While Toy Story 4 is fine, it should not exist. Maybe as a Disney+ exclusive, but as far as I’m concerned it’s not canon.

We get it man, you’re OBSESSED with WALL-E.

You really think your love of Toy Story 3 has nothing to do with the first 2?

Also they’re literally making Inside Out 2, you love Inside Out, why assume the 2nd one sucks?

It’s a masterpiece. You could watch that movie in a foreign language for the first 40 minutes and have no idea until the humans show up. That’s masterful film making, and even when they start talking, I still think you’ll understand everything in the film with the exception of the pizza plant joke. A movie that really understands “Show don’t tell” and has been decently spot on on our human projection.

I mean, sure it does, but it’s also my favorite out of the three.

Because Pixar’s recent record is pretty much mediocrity. Incredibles 2 was nowhere near as good as the original, same with Finding Dory compared to Nemo. I’m actually going to go see this barring abysmal reviews from critics and others here that I trust trashing it, so I’m giving it a shot.

Seems unhealthy to take entertainment so seriously that you have to lie to yourself.

Where’s the lie? I know Toy Story 4 exists, but I prefer it ending at Toy Story 3 and haven’t really acknowledged it since. You do you really.

The whole "not canon" thing.

Again, why care if it's canon or not? It's a fricking movie.

Look I get your main point and I agree movies like Wall-E, UP, Coco, they’re all classics.

But the fact remains that Incredibles 2 is the highest grossing Pixar film of all time. So they’ve maybe pivoted away from making movies in a style you personally love, but they found a style that is clearly very successful. This hammers home my point that people like you and I are not their target demographic

Incredibles 2 followed Coco, so no people still had this opinion overall of Pixar and many people were looking forward to the Incredibles sequel.

Well they managed to make a Buzz Lightyear movie bomb, and given I grew up with Buzz, I should have been one of the major target audiences especially if someone like me had kids at that time. Instead they decided to solely appeal to the Woke, and the movie was a dumpster fire and biggest frick you to the studio since Solo bombed (which to be fair was more in retaliation of The Last Jedi than anything that was in that film).

You cluelessly made my point for me without even knowing it.

Well played.

Except, I wasn’t. Younger? Yes. But me making a Bugs Bunny reference should have clued you in a bit but clearly it didn’t.

Inside Out 2: Release date
June 14, 2024

No one has seen this movie yet. I’m not parroting anyone, galaxy brain. I saw the 1st one. It was well done, enjoyable enough. I’m simply citing history with Wreck It Ralph as a fair comparison.

Jesus you folks are fragile.
