Dude, THEY WERE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BUS

You literally just said it yourself… “he witnesses Scottie pulling around”. Pulling around what? A freaking bus! Once Scottie pulled around a bus, Darlington can no longer see what’s happening. Because obviously. Because busses aren’t transparent. You know that, right? Why is this hard for you?

I think when people realize how stupid the crime was, not many people are going to be that upset. It's not like he got some special privilege where he wasn't detained as long as he should be, he just simply posted bail like any normal person could.

The sad part is that right now, the loser is the City of Louisville. Every second that goes by without one of the following two decisions being made , just makes it worse:

1. Dismiss entirely and do whatever damage control you can possibly do
2. Come out with complete justification of each charge.

It ain't fair, but in this day and age, the court of public opinion is the only thing that matters and the vast majority of the press out there is skewed against the city at the moment.

You're not wrong.

Also, these were the vehicles they were driving for the tournament. Very clearly marked as an official car.

Yes, I have an issue with a police department that continually keeps fricking up, embarrassing my city, and is costing the local taxpayers money because they keep having to settle out of court for their frick ups.

If you're not a taxpaying resident of the city of Louisville, move along.

Well Greenberg (who is absolutely awful) is just going to back LMPD at this point, given his statement.

Actually, I don't have a problem with that public statement from the mayor. At this point, he should appear somewhat neutral. However, I bet behind the scenes he's dressing down their command element.

Yea, that is a very reasonable statement to be making.

This. If he has to make a statement, that's the one to make. I'd prefer we (society) didn't need a statement from him at all though.

If I could trust that he's handling it behind the scenes with some competency, I'd agree. I suspect he's just pissing down his leg though.

After putting him in cuffs and in the car, it was known who he was and they continued to proceed tells me the LPD has no self awareness. Somebody had to call it in so the station knew, other cops around, a supervisor.

How does someone not say look cut him loose and we will finish the investigation and circle back later in the day when we are finished and he gets his day completed?????

Raylan Givens would’ve never allowed this to happen.

At some point the cop...and the chief...should be asked if cops are taught at the academy that the proper procedure in an incident like this is to grab and/or hang on to a moving vehicle. I suspect that if the cop did fall and his pants were damaged, it was because he did something really stupid.
