Just wait until like two weeks after release. Hopefully they put updatable rosters and draft classes like in Madden.

You'll be able the correct rosters. Silly to opt out because someone will inevitably create you

EA should simply create the gameplay / engine, the design of the venues and schools (for which they pay a license fee) and then randomly autogenerate the players BUT allow names and attributes to also be programmable by the user. Then some nerds create downloadable templates for rosters that are unpoliceable a la Napster. It’s like gun liability — yes I manufactured the weapon, no I don’t make anyone use it.

So, everything up to NCAA 2014? This is what caused the lawsuit and 10 year hiatus.

No, completely blank slate. No NIL programmed into the game at all. Everything randomized. BUT, you can update your players by hand in the game or via an upload that’s not programmed by EA. The old games you could upload names to replace jersey numbers but not the player attributes.

No the lawsuit was that they made players look similar to their real life counterpart and had similar stats. It was done in an effort to thwart paying players. It was brought up that EA allowed for customized rosters and individuals working on their own accord made players and rosters that matched real life.

If EA wouldn’t have started with something like a player named QB5 and it looked like Jaden Daniels then the part of the individuals making their own rosters would have likely been dismissed.

The game would come out around my birthday and my wife would go to Walmart in BR at midnight. There were tons of football players in line talking shite to each other about what their rating would be.

The players have zero leverage to get more compensation

That’s already been disproven. The last game didn’t use names.

all the lawsuit proved is that EA has to offer them something.
which they now do. and with the sheer volume of players that agreed to the opt in price, shows it must be somewhat of a fair compensation.

Individual players (other than maybe a select few) have almost no leverage in getting any more money than anyone else.
Savion Jones would have to show EA sports that they would sell more games with him in it vs using an auto generated name in his spot to justify getting any more money than anybody else.

same thing with Madden. Individual player's don't sign on with the game for a negotiated amount.
the Player's Union signs the contract and everyone in the unit gets used and they all get a check.

16,671 players in FBS x $600 = $10,002,600, not including the cost of the base game ($1,166,970).

I guarantee you EA will be making 8 figures on this game when you include preorders leading up to the launch date.

Confirmed with an EA employee that names are autogenerated for players who didn't opt in.

So we’ll get names like Fontenot and Boudreaux on LSU?

We're going to get lot of oddly named white CBs.

Curious why you wouldn't opt-in.

Unless they're required to do something I'm not aware of, its basically free money.

Could he possibly have some other NIL deal that conflicts with EA?

Not sure if you're aware, but people create custom rosters and update them regularly.

The player will be in the game whether they know it or not

Did they? Seems like that would set a terrible precedent for them.

Next year’s release will be a circus when teammates inevitably start collectively bargaining for by positions or groups.

For this reason.

With fully customizable rosters, no one cares if Arch Manning is actually built in.

Victim mentality ruins everything it touches. Whine less.

NILs paired with a wide open transfer portal will rot long-standing traditions that made college football special for the past 70 years.

Fair enough. I don’t think an AAA EA game with randomized elements would fly. But, there’s a demand for anything NCAA. There was an alternative game in development that people shared updates on the OT for years…and it was equal part awful as it was exciting.

They should let Key and Peele generate the random names.

No they didn’t. They said some players will get marketing agreements. There is a difference.

Negotiating with opt outs would basically cement this is a one time release. They aren’t stupid. They refused to negotiate with opt outs
