Crested Gecko

My son wants a Crested Gecko for his birthday. I have done a decent amount of research on it and it seems to be around $500 to get everything, gecko included, to start. Feeding seems easy enough and the only "Hard part" seems to be misting enough to keep the humidity above 50%. Does anyone here...
