That is super helpful. You have done more than I hoped for but if you did ask her one more question: do I need to have a water bowl on the ground or is having one of these with a food bowl and a water bowl hanging on the side good enough?
If you're in South Louisiana you've got green anoles for free.
I saw that petco sells these and was wondering what kind of dummy buys these. They don’t seems as handleable as created geckos. I feel like they’d always run away....
You can do a bioactive setup with a good substrate and isopods (Roly polys) and springtime that basically clean up the waste from the gecko.
You’d recommend both? I def am gonna get springtails but the isopods are $20 so I was trying to save a few $$$ by not getting them....
why is this thread anchored???
No clue why it’s anchored. I thought the OT board would allow a post about any subject?...
Never buy a reptile from a pet store, they pretty much only get the rejects.
Yeah I could get a crested gecko from petco for $40 but I'd rather spend extra and get a cool looking one....

I am fully aware that I'd be getting a pet Gecko that he would hold occasionally. I enjoy taking care of my 75G fish tank so I think I will enjoy a crested Gecko as well but wanted to hear the opinion of those with first hand expe...

Crested Geckos don't actually need any special lights which is great for me. My light would be a grow light for the plants and would only be on for a few hours a day. I do plan on doing live plants because if we are gonna do this, lets ma...

Crested Gecko
Posted by Bert Macklin FBI on 5/28/24 at 1:11 pm
My son wants a Crested Gecko for his birthday. I have done a decent amount of research on it and it seems to be around $500 to get everything, gecko included, to start. Feeding seems easy enough and the only "Hard part" seems to be misting enough to keep the humidity above 50%.
Does anyone here...
