I thought he was one of the top 3 prizes in the class when he committed. He may prove to be the next great LSU LB early in his career. :geauxtigers:...
re: I'm not buying the excuses for the run game

First, I call BS on the NFL tackle responsibility of only pass blocking. Do you know some GMs and have asked them this question? I doubt it.
Second, Emery gets passed by often when pass blocking. He'll be a guard in the league if he learns how to run block....
I said LSU couldn't even pick up a couple of yards on the goal line against Texas A&M last year, so why would we expect a dominant run game this year with the same coach and players?
If an oline can't score from a foot or two from the goal line, there is no other thing to say other tha...
re: Should we keep trying to feed the ball to Chris Hilton?
Posted by mpwilging on 10/30/24 at 1:48 pm
Hilton looks like a gazelle on the football field. He's fast fast and decent size. He just needs reps to refine his craft IMO. If nothing else, he opens up the field for others...

Im not talking over 20 yards. I mentioned 5-?? and moving the chains. BTW, what are most QBs percentages over 20?...

I agree. The go routes are good to stretch the field but the comp rate has been pretty low.
The side-to-side throws aren't getting us anywhere.
Seems like last year and maybe earlier this year, the TE was targeted a lot more, possible as a check-down option.
We need to sustain drives with p...
Passing game needs to be more vertical
Posted by mpwilging on 10/29/24 at 10:27 am
When watching games, almost all of the plays that I call horizontal, result in lost or little positive yardage. Most of these are behind or near the line-of-scrimmage. It also opens up the potential of the DB jumping the route and causing a costly turnover.
We need to create more downfield route...

re: Losing most our OL may not be a bad thing for next year for running

It sounds great but if they're not playing this year, it means they're not as good as the starters. Kinda scary, but it is halloween season....
