Experience with Maya Luxe

Posted by keepAMERICAstrong on 9/9/24 at 1:30 pm
Anyone on the board have experience booking Mexican rentals through Maya Luxe? I’m part of an annual group trip to Destin and the group is eyeing a change in scenery in 2025. Also, with the cost of a vacation to the panhandle, we can get a villa on the beach with a private chef included.. Tul...
Look into buying a trisuit. It’ll increase your swim speed and offer a little padding for the bike. Like the other poster mentioned, practice the transition. Great to have a plan but actually putting your plan into action while wet, full of adrenaline and winded may change your effectiveness. ...

I’ve read it. Definitely a page turner and a book that makes ya think. The 60s in NOLA was long before my time but it seems like it was quite a bit wilder back then ...

Need some book recs

Posted by keepAMERICAstrong on 11/8/23 at 6:01 am
I just finished The Fish that Ate the Whale. Sam Zemurray’s story opened my eyes to a few topics I’d enjoy reading more about. Hoping this board can help with a few recs. 1. A book about the explorers/expeditions that discovered the Americas 2. A book that covers the experience of European Jews ...
Look at Arenas Del Mar near Manuel Antonio on the Pacific Coast and consider hiring a private plane to fly you into the Arenal region and stay at Nayara Resort. Did this for my honeymoon - it was best of both worlds ...

Louie’s Backyard, Hot tin Roof and Matt’s Stock Island are all great. Schooner Wharf Bar is cool right next to Jimmy Buffets original recording studio. ...
Witnessed a drive by shooting while driving with my family and had tools stolen out of my backyard shed after Hurricane Ida knocked my fence down. The shooting was shocking and the news reported it as drug related but it hasn’t affected me long term. Was honestly more frustrated by the tool steal...

I’ve been going to the Week 4 retreat for about 10 years - I’ll try and answer this one for you. I’m not catholic btw It depends… It’s gotten lost a bit in the discussion here, but, Manresa is a religious retreat based on the spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola (founder of the Jesuit...
Just got back from Disney. The mask mandate there for kids is really lax. The only time my 3 year old was asked to put on a mask was to meet Cinderella. Now, for adults, prepare to be diligently masked up any time you’re indoors. The cast members are pretty relentless with that....

Montrose to Crested Butte

Posted by keepAMERICAstrong on 11/21/21 at 10:49 am
Looking at a ski trip in March 2022. I’d like to cash in my Southwest points and fly into Montrose. Any tips on getting from Montrose into Crested Butte? Not finding much online in terms of shuttle services. Thanks in advance for helping out!...
I felt exactly as you described in the liberal Mecca of chicago a few weeks ago. People looked at me like a fool when I walked into restaurants/coffee shops wearing a mask. Chicago more free than Nola… who woulda thought?...
We go every year. The beach club has public grills out front of the “clubhouse” in the center of the 4 towers (on the parking lot side). To my knowledge, there aren’t any grills near the pools. I’ve never had an issue drinking from my own ice chest at any of the pools. As another poster said, the...
