Fake boob's. When my wife changed careers 7 years ago to nursing, at graduation she said she wanted a chest that matched her caboose.
It's been a great 7 years....
re: Question for non rubber ducky Jeep Drivers

My life changed for the better drastically when I stopped giving a shite about what anyone else thinks of me. You should try it.
I've had Jeeps way before these latest fads of ducks and names on the hood and freaky lights ever started. Back then they were the best vehicle to do serious offroading...

re: Do you work out when you’re on vacation?
Posted by chrome_daddy on 5/24/24 at 3:52 pm
Absolutely, whole family does if facilities are available. Of course the teen boys will hit slag weights for a couple of hours if left on their own. Then we eat whatever and the adults can get honkin sloshed wo guilt and look good while doing so.
Work hard play hard....

In my late 40's I built a detached garage on my place. 1,200 sq foot metal building, 15 ft in the center for a lift, insulated. Always liked to work on cars, build things, wanted a space better than a 2-car garage.
Of course, not just for working on things. Stereo and big screen for Tiger sports...
re: Roanoke VA for retirement?

Star City
Pros:
- Lots of outdoor activities around there: hiking, mountainbiking (Carvin's Cove, Douthat, miles and miles), offroad ATV/Jeep (and Hatfield/McCoy trails in WV not far), skiing (Snoeshow and Winterplace are day trips), Beckley WV not far, cycling the Blue Ridge Pkwy, camping, etc....
re: Tell me about Raleigh/Durham

Sister and fam has lived there for the past 25 years. The schools are good. Both boys became engineers through NC State. Both were able to get good paying jobs in the Raleigh area right out of school.
- There are a couple of lakes close by (Lake Jordan) where you can enjoy watersports, fishing. ...

Are they measuring OD"s or OD deaths? Looks like deaths.
Maybe the number of OD's have not gone down BUT maybe it's because Narcan is available OTC since March of 23? Less OD's are fatal?

re: When did you hit mid life crisis

46 after a mini-stroke. Re-evaluated everything. Wife at the time wouldn't change. I moved on. Now re-married and couldn't be happier.
About to retire at 62. Could have retired 5-7 years ago if I didn't get divorced. But the improvement in my life in so many ways is immeasurable. ...
re: Is the OT currently pro or anti-cat?

Pro-cat.
This kitten was abandoned on our place last fall. Is doing well as a barn cat. She's already presented us with lizards, mice, and birds. In the second photo she's hunting the neighbor's horse.

re: What are your hobbies

Seems like you first need to develop some time management skills. Even with kids, wife and a typical job, there is an hour or two daily that you can disengage from the family and take care of yourself.
First thing is I do with any free time is some sort of exercise. Over the years that's been ru...

Doesn't sound like you will miss work.
I won't either. I'm about to retire next month myself so I'm fixing to find out. Like you I'm not the most engaging person at work. I'm not a cube/office hanger. When we were in the office, few people stopped by just to talk.

re: Can Louisiana ever be fixed?

Of course it can. Anything is possible.
IMO, to do so, you'd have to fix two things:
1. Re-invent Education system
--- Primary and secondary education...make it so good that like other top states, private schools will more or less cease to exist
--- Make universities world class research or...
