re: Has anyone here ever moved away from home after getting married and have kids?
Posted by concrete_tiger on 5/31/24 at 11:34 am
I left home when I graduated high school 30 years ago.
Graduated college and lived within a few hours of home.
Moved across the country.
Moved back, but my kids have never lived near either of our "hometowns"
Schools are better here, more opportunity, just better quality of life than "back hom...
re: Trump and the GOP sites crash due to donation traffic. 50 million for Trump by 5 pm

It has motivated me to pursue school board / local spot in the next year. We can’t keep allowing the other side to occupy every post simply because they “have the time.”
We need to focus on local and work its way up.
Reviewing the judgeships on the ballot, and most are unopposed and held by ...
re: Tales from the Red Lobster shrimp debacle

My in-laws and by association, my wife, love(d) Red Lobster. I fricking hate it.
The one near us wasn't convenient. It wasn't good. Being there, I felt like I was in ... the hood.
But nevertheless. The in-laws would come to visit, and we'd talk about places to eat. We've got every cuisine withi...
re: Toyota issues recall, stop sale on 100,000 Tundra pickup trucks due to engine failures

What’s crazy is the mpg improvement isn’t a leap change, it’s barely better.
If I am forced into a v6, I want 30mpg. ...
Ford has done it for years. Their ecoboost didnt have issues like this
Wut.
I know several folks that had eco boost fords and experienced failures or a severe lack of power that caused them to dump them. Give me naturally aspirated power for full size trucks every day, please. ...

re: Medical Debt Should Not Ever Be Used to Harm Credit Worthiness
I can not pay my water bill, power bill, rent, etc. and it won’t harm my credit. But hospitals and doctors, you better pay up.
Medical bills are not loans, they are payments for services.
I don't think that is accurate. If you don't pay those bills, they get turned over to collect...

Socialized medicine is on the way. ...
re: NBC News: Some Florida Transplants Rethink Move

I would like to see this movement across the entire southeast.
Many of my neighbors are lovely, don't get me wrong. But nobody here is from here. (North ATL burbs).
Maybe WFH will let the yankees stay in their perfect little Hamlets. Maybe companies will stop importing Indians (dot not headdr...
re: Breed of peace strikes again
Posted by concrete_tiger on 5/29/24 at 1:16 pm
apologists make zero sense.
It's the owners NOT THE DOGS.
Okay, so you are implying that breeds like labs that are owned by many many many many more owners are just better owners?
So maybe the argument is we need to ban pit bull OWNERS from owning any dogs? And pit bulls would just be nor...
re: Do you feel Hollywood has lost the trust of the viewer?
Posted by concrete_tiger on 5/29/24 at 12:24 pm
I historically was a guy that wanted to catch every big release in the theater, I like movies... if there's a family movie, we were there.
But I agree, when they started changing things "just" to check boxes, I became disengaged. There are some movies that I have yet see, nor do I care to really...

Isn't it weird how humans can get so "addicted" to a specific person that they will drive themselves mad and endure ridiculous hardships.
When the REALITY is there are a shiat ton of humans on this planet, and it's not terribly hard to find another one that will have the secks with you.

re: Now women are finally fed up with Biden?

Maybe a few percentage points worth of female voters have grown weary of

being told men can be women
having daughters lose athletic opportunities due to trannies
seeing women raped and murdered by illegals
