I’ve always preferred Trump over DeSantis but like them both. I don’t at all understand the animosity on this board between the two sides.

Yes, DeSantis should have waited until 2028. Yes, he ran a very disorganized campaign. On the other hand, he’s done a better job than any other current governor in our country, and I have great respect for the things he’s done for the state of Florida.

Props to him for getting out of the race at this point and endorsing Trump. I have no doubt that if he’s ever in a position to lead this country, he will do a fine job. Now let’s get Haley out of there so that we can focus on November.

He'll get a rematch, and we'll repeat this whole charade again.

Just not in 2028. Still Trump's turn.

Some of the posters in extreme support of him seemed to be hardcore democrats getting their anti trump talking points from reddit, du, and joy reid.

Agree. I'm a huge fan of his and was pumped for his 2028 run. Seems like he got a lot of bad advice and rushed into this one, but it did at least let him learn a lot about his shortcomings as a candidate he can improve for the next few years.

I'm glad he didn't stay in deep into the primaries and make himself look foolish. I think it'll be a really interesting race between Vivek, DeSantis, and possibly Haley in a few years. I just hope Republicans manage to keep winning.

22nd amendment won’t allow for a third Trump term

You still think Trump will win? Good luck.

DeSantis dared to challenge dear leader.

If you hadn't noticed, the trumpkins go after anyone that dares say anything bad about dear leader.

This is painting with a wide brush. Most Trump supporters I know acknowledge his weaknesses and wish he would do some things differently. Myself included. No candidate is perfect

Dems have 10+ months to drag his name through the mud. It worked last time, and I don't think Trump is smart enough to avoid stepping right into it. He'll think the attacks will help him. They won't.

Good thread, though.

ETA: If he does win, he'll go on a four-year victory lap and get nothing accomplished. No republican that follows him in 2028 will have a chance.

I guess you haven't been reading this board much.

I hope this board isn't an accurate representation of Trump's full base. If so we are fricked for decades.

Probably starts with how Trump has acted toward DeSantis with the silly name calling and whatnot.

He took a shot a Nikki going out. His address is what made him great. If he would’ve stayed out of this in 24, 28 was his alone.

Why couldn't it still be his alone?
