More like Woke Forest, this doesn’t belong on that list.

I would never send my kid to any of those schools on that list. Send them to a state school in SEC.

Exactly what my kid is doing at A&M. Only morons would send their kids who want to be engineers to Hillsdale.

You decide on a college based on many factors, but ranking within your major should be the focus. Unless you are going into a STEM field going to a private university is most likely a waste of money. Why spend 60,000 plus a year to be a teacher when you can go to LSU for peanuts if you have half decent grades in high school?

I don’t know a plumber or electrician who made under 100k last year, even the laziest of the lazy ones I know (probably 25 combined). Some made over 250k. None of them have any student debt. None are baristas or DoorDash for extra cash. Only one electrician I know is a renter.

I would encourage kids, especially boys, this is the way

If I had a son in middle school that wasn't a clear fricking engineering or math genius, this is absolutely what I would be pushing.

That’s debatable. It’s becoming more and more clear that the schools you listed do not encourage diversity of thought. Their power is in their reputation, which doesn’t simply deserve to be perpetuated. The power is in the network, and you have to say the right things to be part of it.

Plenty of good schools out there without having to go to those more "prestigious" universities that are now full of militant commies, indoctrinating young minds with their insanity.

You people.

College is overrated as frick these days, especially with how expensive it has gotten. Kids can go to trade school and come out with no debt, making more money than most college graduates would and they can make significantly more money over their career than most college graduates.

its so funny. can always tell the ones who have never worked in the trades...they always tell everyone to go into it

I grew up in construction and worked construction for years before going to college at 30 and then law school.

I would tell most kids considering college these days, unless they are going to be an engineer or work in STEM, or go to med school, they should at least seriously consider trade school to work at a chem plant, or to be a plumber, or weld, or to drive heavy machinery.

A lot of the trades would be significantly more lucrative than advanced liberal arts degrees and they could go to work with no debt.
