not from the posters but people post both what they like and what they hate so you get links to all of it

I have read many times of people complaining about getting banned for disagreeing. Is that not the case?

you would have to put into context "disagreeing." There is no official party line here, unlike DU etc so disagreeing is a moving target.

we shouldn't manage the board with our personal feelings and ideologies involved but has it happened where an admin got pissed and suspended someone? yes, unfortunately it has

does it still happen? I dont think so, hopefully if someone is suspended it is for violating board rules and not an admin getting bent out of shape in an argument

there are some posters that get filled with so much contempt for the board they just fling shite everyday no matter what. So if they get whacked, it may look like they got whacked for "disagreeing" but it is usually deeper than that.

ebbandflow is a perfect example

This place is a right wing suck fest and even the conservatives who question anything Trump does or show any hypocrisy get lambasted.

It’s a great site to get unfiltered and the right leaning POV you don’t get with the MSM, but to call it unbiased is laughable.

And this is coming from someone who despises the left.

I understand the board leans right. But the board does present facts and then provides analysis rather than just providing analysis.

And there are a few lefties.

Look, everything is seen through a right wing slant here. Maybe that slant for me is easy to filter out. So on here I can see the real facts.

Besides the question wasn't does this provide nonbiased news. The question is does this site provide the best nonbiased news you can get.

I mean CNN and MSNBC are totally left and don't even deal in fact, just their take on the fact. Hell, fox waffles. Some are far right, some are a little left. But again, these sites often deal with analysis of the news rather than the facts of the news.

Here I get the facts. I do get a large right wing analysis of that news and a few lefties state a few thing.

What other sites give you facts, and while it is a right leaning board you do get analysis from a wide range on the political spectrum.

If this is the best site, what is?

I appreciate this site a lot, because it lets me read actual people's right-leaning perspectives and understand them. Sometimes they are well presented and I agree with them, sometimes I disagree but totally understand where they're coming from and why they feel that way, sometimes they are totally unsupported or flat out based on misinformation and it makes me frustrated. But it's a way more balanced set of right-leaning perspectives than I will ever see selectively picked out and shite on in other places.

To say the site is unbiased is laughable. It's definitely a strong right-ward slant. To say it treats both sides equally is not accurate. Trying to talk about nuance or the space between the extreme left and extreme right is more often than not labelled "liberal" or "leftist talking points" because they exist to the left of the poster's position on the spectrum. Even moderate conservative ideas are labelled liberal, and people like Romney, McCain, and Kasich are called liberals. "Liberal" and "leftist" don't mean left of center here, they mean "left of me" or "I disagree with that".

You also can't act like Trump isn't generally deified and protected here. In general, criticism of him or anything he supports is not accepted. I got a mod message about TDS for saying something critical of Trump, and I don't know if people ever get similar messages for spewing paragraphs about Witch Pelosi, literally wishing death on Schumer or other Democrats, or the many "Obama Man Bad" threads that still pop up four years after his presidency. But good points have been made above - you will be mocked for posting left opinions, but not banned. That's good.

It's true that people tend to only post in support of their side and against their opponents. Politics shouldn't be a sports match but message boards push it in that direction. I have tried to make an effort to post criticisms of Democrats and praise for Trump as much as I can to offset that bias.

Every news source is extremely bias. Especially this one.

But especially all of them.

Anyone is welcome to post any opinion here. You're not banned or cencored for your opinions. It's not our fault little melty snowflakes don't post here more. But there are plenty that do.

Of course, lefty dipshits who love censorship and propaganda and hate free thought constantly cry that anytime they post someone responds to them or engages them. Because they should be allowed to just throw out whatever ignorant nonsense they want and never have anyone questioning xhem because zir above mansplaning or whatever.

That's not the point? The thread title is literally "is tigerdroppings the best place for nonbiased news?"

It's not nonbiased. Even if you take away the discussion in the comments, there is massive selection on which topics are chosen to be posted and which stay active and near the top. Same as happens in the opposite direction on r/politics.

At this point, is Alex Jones any less reliable than CNN, NewYorkTImes, Washington Post, etc.?

BTW, that's not an endorsement of Jones.

No. It's not. Because nonbias media doesn't exist anywhere on the planet

You're welcome to post whatever topic you want as much as you want. No one selects them.

Nothing decides this other than last post. Go ahead and bump your own threads as much as you want.

Wrong. That site is actively policed to only allow certain topics and activities. This site is not.

THE SITE is not biased, posters that post on the site are biased, the board’s pre-dominant culture is biased on the average Southern middle class white male

There is no official website philosophy or ideology that says this site is ................ and dissension will not be tolerated

The website was originally created for LSU sports discussion, the PT Board is reflective of the members that post here. Chicken and Circus are not using the PT board to promote their personal politics and ideologies and suppress those that disagree with them.

Which is why we see different view points

1. Read OP
2. You have you're own persepective (or ideas)
3. Read comments to read similar and dissimilar perspectives
4. Come to your own conclusion

Pretty simple. That's how it should be.

The problem is people who can't own up when they are wrong.

Best example is people like texridder and the mickey guy.
...Post articles based on "sources" that turn out to be completely false

You and Breesus are both making this same argument, but it's not the "gotcha" you think it is. This unfortunately reflects a really annoying trend here, which is instead of engaging with the topic switching to a kind of related thing and arguing against that instead, then calling it a win. This thread is not asking if tigerdroppings has rules and policies in place that allow unbiased discussion. It's asking if it's the best place for nonbiased news. What's the point of hypotheticals like "well it would be unbiased if more liberals posted here, because they're totally allowed to!"? We're talking about reality.

It doesn't matter if liberal posters are allowed to post whatever they want. Yeah, that's absolutely true. But if the vast majority of users are right-leaning, then the majority of content will be skewed right-leaning. The users make the content, and the content makes the site. The users are biased, the site is biased. I don't mean the administration is policing or pruning the content. I mean if you come to this board it is not going to be a "nonbiased source of news". I agree that r/politics is way more actively manipulated. It's more similar to thedonald.win in that respect. BUT it's also got massive left-leaning bias in what is submitted and upvoted in the first place. It is also the product of its users.

You could have a totally unmoderated tree stump that anyone is allowed to pin whatever news article they want to it, but if it's placed outside the front entrance to MSNBC where all their employees pass every day, it is not going to be an "unbiased news source".

The responses to my posts are literally proving my point, lol.

That's what I like about this site. If you present a point or breaking news, you better have a link or facts to back up your post and prove it. Posters here will call you out real quick if you don't. I get my breaking news here. It's a lot more credible than any of the MSM. Just my opinion.
