Your cost of living has essentially doubled since potato brain was installed.

Your country is being overrun with illegal aliens.

Your children are under attack with levels of depravation that would make the people of Sodom and Gomorrah blush.

If you happen to be white, you are openly discriminated against in job hirings, college admissions, and a multitude of other areas.

Is this just a case of severe Stockholm syndrome, low IQ, or what? What’s the appeal here?

They're in a cult. A woke cult that has brainwashed them into hating themselves and favoring the abstract self-interests of an "oppressed group" over their own.

Plus, your blue-haired, borderline personality disorder-suffering wife keeps bringing home big scary men with deep voices and bad manners who make you sit quietly in that uncomfortable chair in the corner while they play hide the sausage.

Social media has brainwashed suburban women into thinking it's the right thing to do. I don't really have an excuse for white males other than I think there is a set of them who listen to NPR and think Dems are the sophisticated party.

The entire Democrat party is just a coalition Marxists, baby- killers, low-IQ imbeciles, the lazy, groomers, and artificially aggrieved people wound up by the race hustlers.

It is a combination of different groups. Some are just misinformed and in denial as to what they are seeing. Others are mentally ill. Some are just stupid. There is also the group that have arrogant attitudes and want to belong to the club of “intelligence” so they can feel superior.

We could pretend, but sane people can't truly imagine being insane.

Inflation is an issue.
So is immigration(which the GOP will not agree to fix).
The deprivation concern is massively exaggerated and is simply apolitical cudgel.
And White victimhood remains a laughable idea. Affirmative Action isn’t even a thing nymore. Not in school admission or employment unless part of an old EEEOC settlement, and there are very few of those.

My inlaws are both liberals. The live on a fixed income and they have to feel the costs of everything going up. They're both Christian and overall good people. But they still vote this way.

My FIL is mentally ill and has the meds to prove it so that explains why he votes dem.

My MIL is a smart, thoughtful, & compassionate person but she still votes dem. My only thought is she worked a government job for years and probably thinks more government will make the world better.

The GOP will not agree to completing the wall and deporting the ten million most recent invaders?

Apathy and a lack of desire to obtain information other than what they receive from the MSM in "drive by" report.

I have a colleague. Upper middle class with 20-30 year old children and a few grandchildren. Successful business owner and generally an intelligent guy. He'll complain about countless aspects of the economy, taxes, legal system, etc. Yet, will almost assuredly vote Democrat. It's seems so incredibly counterintuitive as he is squarely in the demographic they openly hate and attack...white, male, upper middle class.

For years I simply could not understand why he would seemingly vote against is own interest. But as I got to know him more I figured out why:

1. He is not interested in politics and does not follow it with any vigor
2. The TOTALITY of his information on politics comes from essentially a few sources: Yahoo.com, the 5:30 (CT) national news, 60 minutes, and the local newspaper with its unbiased leftist bent.

That is the foundation of his dislike for Republicans and extreme dislike of Trump. He's only getting one very biased side of the story and is shocked to learn of information that challenges the very shallow degree of knowledge he obtains.

The depth and breath of information available to the American public has NEVER been greater. Yet, the desire to obtain that information may never be lower. You see it on this board all the time. We are living in a "TLDR" society. Many just want the convenience of someone telling them what to think. And when those that control the primary aspects of communication largely share one viewpoint the information provided to lazy folks like my friend is completely one-sided.

If I was trying to convince middle class voters not to vote for a republican, I would just show them the priorities of Louisiana’s supermajority republican legislature. The democrats have been a party of failed economics. The republicans have no interest in reversing any of that and only care about stupid social conservative wedge issues.

I honestly am because of people with martyr syndrome such as you. You use hyperbole and over dramatize everything. I guess the other option is being in a cult who focuses on small and unimportant social issues that have little to no effect on the majority. A lot of us don't love Biden we just prefer that over the other option.

Well, those generally aren’t republicans despite what letter they put next to their names.

Are you incapable of comparing where our country and the world in general was in 2019 to the dumpster fire of today? Wow.
