For anybody on the fence

This is not meant to start an argument with people who are adamantly against the vaccine. I respect your right to choose. This is not political. This is for anyone who is on the fence about the vaccine. I am a physician. What I have read on here about the level of disdain for healthcare professionals is disheartening. I can promise you that most healthcare professionals are good people, doing there best in an unprecedented time and situation. In the major metropolitan area I live there were 3 ICU beds available yesterday. There are now more patients admitted to the hospital than at any other point since this started. We are literally running out of beds and nurses to care for the patients. The overflow is saturating and filling up our emergency departments. And 95% of the patients admitted are unvaccinated. 50% of these people are under the age of 65. These patients stay twice as long on average as other people admitted to the hospital tying up a significant amount of resources. This is not up for debate. These are just facts. For the first time in my career I have been asked to delay cancer surgery. Its not just about the COVID patients, the downstream effects this has on other patients is devastating. Again, this is not meant to start an argument with people who are adamantly against the vaccine. You do you. But for anyone on the fence, I would implore you to consider getting vaccinated. Downvote away.

How do you test for the Delta, Lambda, Mu variant(s) in your hospital?
I'll hang up and listen.
I'll hang up and listen.

Were you ever on the fence about using any formatting or were you all in on a wall of text from the get go?
I would implore you to consider the former.

You’ll get a lot of anger from the resident webMDs

You shouldn’t have let clueless corrupt (malicious?) politicians be your sounding board.

This is not confidence building, Doc.

Unreal that they are even putting people in this position to DIE from Cancer so they can treat patients for a VIRUS with a 99.8% survival rate.
That is beyond fricked up.

Just as believable and provable as your statement by the way.
Sir, this is an anonymous message board.

So, you've been asked to delay a cancer surgery? Why? Is the cancer going to wait for 100% vaccination?

Don't mind if I do.

You came to the wrong place for this.

Yeah, that's not reckless at all. Please tell us the name of this fine institution so we can avoid it at all costs.

Do you believe in natural immunity?

How many of them were previously infected with Covid? I assume you had access to the medical history of the folks that you treated.
