How can I improve my starter bow set?

Received a Diamond Edge 320 as a gift last year and have been target shooting more and more with the weather warming up. I think the sight is just okay, and with the whisker biscuit, honestly just unsure if there's something better out there? To make the next steps towards an intermediate shooter, what do you recommend replacing?
I think I'd prefer a single pin (or double) vs. the multi-pin setup I currently have but I've also never shot one so idk. Also wondering fixed vs. adjustable, which is better? Currently just a target shooter, but open to hunting down the road. Budget is up to $400

Just popped in to ask if you live in Alaska?
Joking aside, I have only taken 1 buck with a bow. Plan on devoting more time as well.
I will defer to the more seasoned experts on this board.
Good luck. Getting that 1 buck was one of the most memorable hunting experiences I have ever had. And I've been hunting since 1975 or so.

What kind of hunting are you doing?
Do you plan to shoot something greater than 40 yards?
You're not losing much with the whisker biscuit

Damn, are those pins set at 5 yard increments?
Honestly whisker biscuits are suitable for 90% of people that own a bow

I used a single pin HHA for about 10 years. You can get them on Ebay for pretty cheap. Their customer service is great. I bought mine used. I contacted them about a problem with the rheostat and they told me if I sent it to them they'd go over it, clean it, etc free of charge before I started hunting with it. They also sent me another rheostat for free when they knew I'd bought the sight off of ebay. Awesome customer service.
I try not to shoot over 30 yards (at deer) so I'd just set the pin at 25 and rarely had to move it while hunting. I completely freak the F out when a deer is under me so it helped not having to choose a pin. Doesn't matter how much I practice. I'm automatically 10x more retarded when a deer is in bow range.

Are you shooting a peep sight?
Are you using a release?
Are you using a d-loop?
Do you have a stabilizer?
Is the bow tuned? With the strings stretched?
All of those things would possibly improve your shooting if not there already.
That sight and rest will not hold you back from much in the way of accuracy and performance of that bow and in my opinion a capture rest and fixed pin setup is bullet proof and reduces the amount of variables in a hunting bow setup.

If you haven't already, I would take to your local archery pro shop and make sure the bow is tuned correctly, and that you're shooting the correct spine and length arrows for your draw length/weight.
Seems obvious but those things really do make a big difference. But of course shooting technique is by far most important

Man, if you're shooting accurately with the set up you have now, don't change anything. Seriously.

Post pic of arrow group. I shoot a biscuit. I kill deer with it.

This + drop away rest (nothing wrong with the whisker biscuit, I just prefer the drop away).

Where are you guys going to get bows tuned? Ive got one that I set up myself, so I know it needs to be tuned.

If you are in it for the long haul try YouTube university. Todays new bows are super easy and don’t suffer from the same BS bows from the 80s90s he’ll even the 2000s.
In Baton Rouge the one guy at Bowie that sounds like he’s from Pierre part and the guy who owns archery unlimited in Hammond is who I would trust just from what I have seen and talked to them.

What kind of arrows do you have? Are they all the same length spine and weight? That would be a good investment with some of your $400.
In order of bang for the buck(these things will make a larger accuracy improvement than an actual equipment upgrade)
-at least 6 arrows that match and are the proper spine
-a peep sight that is the right diameter to match your sight housing
-a peep sight that is the perfect comfortable height
-the right draw length, if this is adjustable get it dialed in
Then I would upgrade some equipment
-a sight with an adjustable 1st-3rd axis will make you more accurate if leveled
-if you are looking at getting a sliding sight to shoot further, I’d probably get rid of the biscuit. I generally recommend QAD rests and Montana black gold multi pin sliders.

Yep, like post above says you’re better off spending that money on some well built arrows, potentially learning to put them together yourself, that are identical and fit the bow, which is tuned to that arrow. The gadgets like a site and a rest are cool and some of them make you a bit better shot, but what will make you rock solid and consistent is knowing that all of your arrows fly the same, so if one doesn’t then you had a breakdown somewhere in the shot process.

Lots of different ways to go about this.
If your goal is to hunt whitetail and shoot targets out to 40 yards your set up is perfectly fine.
I would agree in general with what’s said above.
Make sure draw length is correct.
Make sure string is in good shape.
Check arrow length/spine.
Pick a solid consistent arrow from a good manufacturer. (Easton Axis is a safe bet and has been around forever) .
Paper tune, bareshaft tune.
Get some decent broadheads that fly well and broadhead tune your bow.
Bonus: Check out Joel Turner’s podcast on Kifarucast to develop a solid shot sequence.
If you want to shoot longer distances than 40 and really want to dive in to archery, my advice would be to not spend the money on new sights or rests. I would save your money and consider working towards a new top end bow over the next couple of years.

I got into bow hunting last year. Went to a local shop to get it good enough to hunt with. After hunting season, I brought it to Chags and had them go through everything. They changed some stuff, realigned stuff, got more efficient arrows, etc. Can't wait for hunting season to come.
Follow the advice these guys tell you. That is what I did and was able to get my first bow kill. Enjoy the process.

Join archerytalk and join in on some discussions. Once you get 20 or so post you can see the classifieds forum. You can typically find whatever your looking for in great shape and half the price or less. If your accurate with that biscuit i would look into a new sight. Probably be some really good spot hoggs hit the classifieds soon being they are about to start shipping their new boonie sight.
