It's a piece of garbage that works. I'm jaded after having a pistol, new out of the box and refusing to feed. Hi point has never done that for me

An u/$200 pistol that works doesn’t seem like garbage. If I was broke I’d have one. Might get one in 45ACP one day just for kicks.

I bought the 9mm carbine a long time ago for that reason. It was right around the time the Beretta Storm carbine was released and I didn't even know if I wanted a 9mm carbine or not, so a $250 entry price just to play with it seemed reasonable.

It's crude, it goes bang every time. Near zero recoil and first-timers love shooting it. I have no interest in owning one of their handguns but if money was a priority I might.

Yeah, they're a whole lot of fun to go plinking with. No doubt about that.

I don't have a Hi-Point but I do have one of those Heritage Rough Rider revolvers and that is just about the best $150 I've ever spent. It's in .22LR / .22WMR, so I guess the Hi-Point does have a power advantage, but if I really needed a cheaper gun I think I'd go with the Heritage.

Nothing against Hi-Points- they don't jam up or break any more than any other auto-loader, from what I've heard.

I have a Sig P320 that is exactly the same. It has even been sent back to Sig, and supposedly worked on.

Taurus G3 can be had for a bit more and is a really nice pistol for the price.

Excellent reviews. It shoots well.

Locally it can be had out the door cash price for 285

I have one of these as well. Pretty well built for a cheap gun.

The old man that had a fishing camp next to ours has this one:

I asked what the hell he had it for and he said it’s for killing snakes at the dock so he doesn’t have to bend over or get close.

Never had one in my hand and they are ugly.

But, I've seen many reports that they work and get the job done.

You can get a Ruger Wrangler for not much more and it’s a solid little 22lr revolver

I would be more concerned that I negligently permitted a criminal to commit crimes with MY gun. That would really bother me.
But people can be as irresponsible as they please.

I do think the Taurus is a better deal. No argument there. But for someone who’s broke and just needs something that goes boom, saving $50 on a Hi Point is the option.

Yeah I don’t understand the hostility to the idea “don’t make it easy for a criminal to steal your gun.” I keep mine in a console safe. It should deter the usual thug who walks around pulling car handles.

I agree. My default is to carry it on my person, but there are times when that is not a good idea, so a lock system in a vehicle is also a good option.

Keeping a gun in your locked truck is not "negligently permitting".

I take no issue with someone NOT wanting to keep a weapon in their vehicle. If you truly think storing in a vehicle is negligent then you must never CC. Inevitably there are places you cannot legally CC, in which case you must leave your weapon.....in your vehicle.
