Take an airliner....lots of pilots, lots of engines. Would never get on one of these small planes.... but that's just me.
And to also be the pilot on this little boy I'll be too busy panicking instead of trying to save it.

Didn't Tim McGraw own Hank Williams Sr's old place at Leipers Fork years ago?

Records show the aircraft, a 1966 Beechcraft V35 Bonanza, has been registered to the Doucet since January.
Baw has only had the plane for a few months

I'll wait until Pilot Debrief does a video on this one. 99% of the time it's pilot error. Pushes a plane beyond its limits. Flying in weather they shouldn't because they have to make it to a destination and can't wait etc etc.
Check out his channel. Ex military Fighter Pilot. He breaks down the cause of some very notable crashes.

Sorry to hear. My uncle, a neurosurgeon died while flying his plane a few years back. Awful.

reason number 15.85 million to not fly private aircraft.

Another V tail with excessive Va loads? What was the weather?

Too many wealthy people get suckered into thinking that general aviation is a more convenient and safe form of travel compared to commercial aviation when in reality it isn’t. They’ll blindly pull out their checkbooks while not even educating themselves about the risks of flying private.
There hasn’t been a major commercial aviation crash in 15 years. Meanwhile, there’s hundreds of small-plane crashes in the U.S. every year. That’s the risk you take when flying a private aircraft. It’s way less regulated compared to commercial aviation.
This is just as bad as the small-jet crash in Naples FL that happened earlier this year.

As someone who is currently pursuing his PPL I can tell you “private” is heavily regulated. Pickup a FAR on Amazon and see for yourself.
Something like 90% of the fatal mishaps in small aircraft are due to avoidable mistakes by the pilot.
I’ll wait for the report before passing judgement but aircraft simply do not break up in the air without being pushed beyond their structural design

That particular plane has the unfortunate nickname of “the doctor killer”
More specifically forked-tongue doctor killer

I actually wished this Doucet would have made it to the airport.

Because the airplane looks like a snake????
Because they kill a lot of lying doctors????
Which is it????

Doctor killer because it was a mass produced high performance airplane the was relative inexpensive. So a lot of professionals (like doctors) bought it with it's 285-300 HP engine right after getting their pilot's license. So it was like getting your 16 year old a ferrari soon as he got his driver's license. Plus the instruments back in the day did no help at all with the weather.
I had one that a hanger door fell on during Hurricane Sally. It was a great flying airplane and I found it very forgiving

Dam that sucks, I don't know the pilot ,but I recognize the call sign. It was a Bonanza that used to come in from time to time where I worked.
