You're better off going a little older.

Gonna change the same parts regardless.

Tax refund season is a big reason. I tried to sell my car to a used dealership in December a few years ago, and they barely offered me any money for it. "That's a tax car" he said, meaning to wait until closer to April when people have their tax refunds. He was absolutely right. I put it on FB marketplace and had several offers within minutes. It was a little sketchy, but I met the buyer at a well lit hospital parking garage to inspect the vehicle and then did the transaction at a title shop.

Pro tip: do NOT skip out on the title shop and assume the buyer will do it. My late father got a stack of red light speeding tickets for several months from the guy who bought his car.

I'd keep it rollin.'

We had a 2015 Wrangler that was needing $2k in repairs every 6 months. We had to get out of that thing.

I didn't test drive one of the 2024 Camrys, but the ole lady said it drove mighty fine.

Seeing the same for ATV's and side by sides. People want insane money for old arse stuff thats a couple grand less than a new $10k Polaris/Yamaha etc. Saw one that was a 2018 that had 125,000 miles and 1000's of hours and dude said don't insult him by lowballing an offer. Same model new was not much more.

Been looking for a year for a reasonable deal and people are crazy with these prices.

No way I trust the odometer reading on that F150.

FB Marketplace is typically a waste of time, I stopped looking for an EVO IX MR years ago when decent units were fetching $50k.

Someone would probably pay that for a pristine 1995 truck. There’s a lot of nostalgia for 90s pickups.

It’s not just nostalgia. They are better trucks. I’ve got a Chevy a little older than a ‘95 and get multiple calls per year from friends, co -workers, exwives, etc. stuck on the side of the road somewhere who know that my reliable old Chevy truck with its decent 6 won’t even strain to tow their abominations to a dealer or repair shop. Got two calls on one day from a girlfriend whose modern Mercedes died in BR and I towed to dealership. After about 4 hours got a second call from her, as her Nazi abomination crapped out again in traffic only 3 blocks from the dealership. The story she got from the Vietnamese shop I towed her to for the second tow of the day said that it appeared that te manufacturer had saved a dollar or so by putting her windshield washer and carburetor on the same chip; when her windshield washer ran out of fluid it interpreted this as a sigal that the carb was not getting gas.
As far as I know, my Chevy doesn’t have any chips as just about all of recent car models do. I listen to complaints from te incapacitated vehicle owners that I generously tow for the price of a beer to the effect that my exhaust emits a lot of oily smoke. I explain. that this is a good thing, since it ells me that I still have oil, and that it is not. time. for me to dump my annual 2 or 3 quarts of oil into the engine.

Then don’t buy it. Free market will dictate the price

Great trucks. I'd lean towards '96 to '99 in the GMT400 as you get the Vortec 350 versus the old 210HP TBI engine previous.

That's right.

Those are what I'm looking after.

Had a 94,96, and a 2000 escalade (was the tahoe 350 model)

The later models had the change in interior in 95 also with the updated mirrors and grill.

Some buyer will no doubt get his " head knocked off" and the seller laughs all the way to the bank.....and the buyer gets an outdated 20 year old truck that collapses in 18 months

Sorry but that’s NOT a short bed. Obviously long bed. I would buy it if it came with a “special haircut”.

I'm never surprised anymore what people are asking (and getting!) for old Bronco's, regardless of the condition.

Especially when you can find rangers from that era all day for $3-6k.

Toyota does not have the market cornered on reliable small trucks.

Last year I noticed my dad's truck was missing.

It was a 2014 Dodge 3/4 ton diesel, quad cab with four wheel peel. Had around 60k on the odometer. Mint condition, all it had done its whole life was pull campers down the highway.

I asked him where it went and he excitedly told me some idiot stopped by and offered him 20k cash so he sold it! He thought that man was a fool for offering him so much for that old truck.

I told him not to sell anything else without talking to me about it first.
