Cartels own the farms. They manipulative the price and supply.

Cartels at work.....seriously, avocados are almost as profitable to them as cocaine.

Dumb that white people have appropriated this holiday

Cinco de Mayo a minor holiday in Puebla that celebrates a victory for Mexican forces over the French. Smart Mexican restaurant owners used a minor, local holiday to sell margaritas and pull in customers.

Please make your own guac; it is laughingly simple to do and always better than that processed kind.

Bro it's May 2nd. The market is never prepared for the masses of white women celebrating Cinco De Mayo

May 2nd.

People are buying it all up for Cinco De Mayo and there isn’t necessarily a surplus of it right now.

It's not something that I want very often. We rarely eat that type of snacks.
I'll probably pick up some avocados today and give it a try.

I guess it's just avocado and lime juice? Throw in some green chiles and chopped onion?

Rouses is selling avocados this week at 3 for $.99, so there's definitely no avocado shortage for making guacamole.

Like already mentioned, make your own.

Have you looked at the avacados they are selling?
They are not sending their best, as we have already been advised by The Orange One.

The OP was really kind of a joke, it's really not that important.
I just kind of thought it was odd that on the rare occasion that I wanted some guacamole, all the local grocery stores were sold out.
It never crossed my mind about the whole Cinco De Mayo thing until somebody mentioned it here.

I don't live at Opelika anymore.
I don't know of any Hispanic groceries where we are now.
There probably is one, but I don't know about it.

At that price, I'm sure there's some picking to do.
