How many of you out there genuinely enjoy what you do for a living vs just dread every waking moment and count down until the weekend?

I feel like majority don’t enjoy it but they need money so they do whatever they do. Am I right or am I wrong

The actual work tends to be fine, albeit bad during different parts of the year.

Who you have to work for or spend time collaborating with tends to be the make or break of how bad it is.

I like parts of my job:

Troubleshooting
Training people
New installs/renovations

I dislike:
Day to day maintenance
Upgrades/patching
Meetings

I genuinely liked my job for a long time until I had to leave due to health issues.

Did I genuinely like it more than being independently wealthy? Nope.
I am not a person who would be bored in retirement. My parents are retired and constantly doing things.

I like the money and the three weeks off every three weeks. So I guess I do enjoy it now that I think about it.

There is a very small set of people that can say they truely enjoy going to work everyday. I like my job, could be better and could be much worse. Good people make or break the experience. It could be the best job ever, but I'm always looking for the weekend. I rather spend time with my family than anyone else.

i have days I despise it, but they are few and usually widely spaced.

my job allows me ot see the US free of cost, work from home full time, a boss that does not micromanage me and lets me handle my own work load. i'd like to make more, but I like it and the company i work for.

Yeah, sure, why not. Sometimes there’s drama, sometimes fairly stressful, but it’s mostly entertainment. I’m on cruise control.

I genuinely love what I do

I genuinely hate doing it for other people.

big companies suck

if I was on my own, and/or had full roster control, I would be coasting.

They have to pay me to show up.

“Enjoy” is not the word I use for “work.”

The actual work in my job isn’t bad. Old telephone man. Sometimes a rough house or something, but most of my work-related stress comes from overzealous management.

The money and WFH is nice for my job.

I do miss socialising with people, tho.

Love the job I started this year. Low stress and very balanced between work and life. Pretty much the exact opposite of what I was doing this time last year .
