I considered that.

Makes me think of a hat that she bought me for Christmas. I thought, what if she thinks that it doesn't look good on me after I try it on? But she won't say anything because it was a gift from her, and I really like it. Seems like a good idea for a Curb episode.

I do it with old people all the time, I'm not going to waste time correcting someone on something if it doesn't really matter if they are right or wrong.

I probably should do the same with my wife.

He’s definitely an anti-social sociopath, so no lie there!

I don’t think so, as long as you can continue doing it.

I had this girlfriend who loved the show, Friends. I’ve always hated it, but I told her “I’ve never seen it,” just to be somewhat agreeable, because we had other things in common.

On some weekdays, I would “suck it up,” and go over to her place to watch it together. One day, when we were more comfortable around each other, I couldn’t stand it any longer, and admitted to her how much I hated friends. It was as if I killed her dog.

yes...although I've been told I have a terrible poker face when I get shite gifts.

I was personally tested on mothers day. MIL, who is a North Louisiana whose cooking can best be described as warming things up, made gumbo. It was from a box, it was watery, it was warm. She asked me how I liked it as someone raised in south Louisiana... I said it was very good and thanked her for making it.... but she kept on asking...and asking...and wanting me to get more...and asking..and steering the convo to it, and the sausage she used, and the heat on it. I couldn't engage in any other conversation for very long without having to discuss the damn gumbo.

Held it together tho..felt good to yell that into the TD abyss tho

If it’s subjective then you are no more right or wrong than they are.

But yes, I do this all the time over trivial matters. I’m not arguing or telling you that you are wrong because something is your favorite song, food or movie.

I do. One, because people don’t listen and two because in the end, I just don’t care enough to put forth any effort.

Now, you have to figure out if I actually mean that answer or not.

I just kind of agreed with her that I also thought that they were really good.

You should have not done this.

At one point I did inadvertently laugh at one of the lyrics, and she asked why I laughed, and I just said uhh the lyrics are just-

before I could get it out, she conceded that those particular lyrics were pretty cheezy.

The band is The Lagoons btw. They are actually not bad at all, its just not something that I would listen to a bunch.
