Trae makes this team so much worse.

How do you guys not see that?

Only if you're talking about what he may do off court and the culture and all that good stuff.

On court, it's a no brainer, he makes us better than a BI led team. The only caveat to that would be CJ. A Trae/CJ backcourt could be too much to overcome, but from the posts I've seen, most that wouldn't mind Trae say so while also saying only if CJ was moved in a separate deal.

What was our downfall last season, both in games where teams got physical and in crunch time?

I’ll answer for you,it was lack of a guy that can run a half court offense effectively. Trae solves that.

b/c we watch basketball and understand what he does well offensively and how that fits into the gaping hole we have offensively for this particular roster.

If you truly watched basketball, you'd know that Trae doesn't make us any closer to a championship than BI does.

Teddy has been one of the most rational posters in the BI discussions. While I really don't like Trae Young, I recognize how unbalanced our roster is going to be without him. Pretty sure that's the point Teddy is making.

Quite a few people disagree with you. You are so anti-BI, you don't recognize that Trae may very well be an even worse fit.

You think a notorious ball hog is what we need? No more Point Zion, I guess.

Zion being unfit or unavailable.

It's really not close. You can make all the non basketball excuses you want, that's fine.

Talking basketball, it's not close. Trae is way better than BI, why are we pretending otherwise?

This team would be better if you only swapped Trae and BI.

Were we a good team in the clutch? What would have made us better in the clutch?

Its hard to criticize another person for being “anti-BI” when majority of your posts are “anti-Zion” on this board.

Trae has skins on the wall of being that dude in the playoffs too. And he'd have to take some humble pie and concede to Zion a lot, but he's a player that when he's on you can just get out of his way.

He'd be the best guard since Chris Paul on this team and it's not really close.

I think it helps they seem to have a good relationship and are friends off the court. Part of the whole BI and Zion pairing problem was they just never seemed in sync with the pairing and even off the court didn’t seem like they meshed.

We're better off trading for a young #2 on a team and hope he levels up than trading for a guy who is currently a #1 on his team and hope he is cool changing his game to be more of a #2.

Not to mention Trae can be woefully inefficient. Again, Trae does not move the needle any closer for us. I get wanting new blood over BI, because that doesn't work and needs to change, but wanting change for the sake of change is not the move... it needs to be the right move and Trae isn't it.

Yeah but you’re also not a huge Trae fan so to be fair your post is a bit biased.

Lol wut?

I have no opinion on him at all other than he doesn't make us any better. I think this thread is the first time I've ever said anything about Trae

Then my mistake. I thought I read something where you posted somewhere you weren’t a fan of Trae?

So then Im assuming you like Trae and think he’s a great star but just a bad fit?

Stats show that there are glaring inefficiencies to his game. I fear if he was on this team, me and the rest of this board will eventually feel the same way about him as we currently do BI.

The main reason most this board hates BI is because of his game which is predicated on shooting mid range jumpers. To me thats the complete opposite of Trae. Defensively, hes an issue; offensively I don’t remotely see how he wouldn’t make us a better offense.

Trae has shot the Hawks into games... he's also shot them out of games.
