I'm sure you'd agree that insinuating we'd have no use for Suggs i

No we could use Suggs, but he's more of a bench player or a starter paired with a legit lead guard. He's a luxury player who would be nice in addition to adding our 2 biggest needs (lead guard, center).

But the problem with starting Suggs is either Herb or Trey have to come off the bench in that scenario, which relegates him logically to a bench role.

Someone like Dejounte Murray has fit and is another quarter. If we give up a quarter without getting one back, it will be harder to acquire one in the future if good fit isn't enough.

Exactly. This somewhat plays into my "rebuilding" comments in the other thread. If we're not getting legit players back, it's a bad deal for our current roster construction.

Also, why do people think Suggs is such a great fit. It looks like his strengths are defense and off ball play. His drive and assists numbers are terrible. Especially with BI going out, we need someone coming back that can be a play maker. This trade makes the team's biggest existing flaw, the flaw that smart and tough teams used to shut the Pels down every time, even worse.

Yes. This is the issue with lots of options being posted for BI.

Trading BI means we need to get back another guy who can create his own offense, or else we're going to be real fricking ugly on offense next year with one guy on the roster who can create his own shot and playmake (Zion). And we still have a major hole at 5.

Put it this way, we should all be over the moon elated if Dyson at any point in his career gets to be as good as Suggs was last season.

BI >>>>>> Dyson

All BI is concerned with is his long term career (paycheck). He stubs his
toe and he sits, refususes to play with minor injuries. The guy is stealing money from the Pels. CJ is the kind of player who puts TEAM FIRST. Some
of these players nowadays are in it only for themselves.

Ingram has been our best player in hundreds of games since Zion was drafted

For sure, Pels may just want a rebrand, board should move along without the slander. Facts are the team was in good shape before the break (ahead of Mavs), decided not to add any pieces and retooled the offensive scheme. Dallas is in conference semifinals and Pels are remarketing. Its all about money.

OK, and you think Suggs or Isaac would be better?

But you would have used a draft pick to acquire Dyson and not a player like BI.

I've said in this thread I don't like this Magic hypothetical trade.

That comment was part of another discussion about us basically having no use for a guy like Suggs on this team.
