I would love to keep BI…for 20-25 mil a year otherwise I couldn’t slam the door behind him fast enough

I agree that the overall deal lacks a better player but the idea that we have no use or room for one of the best 5 wing defenders in the NBA who also shot 40% from 3 is going a bit too far

We are almost certainly not getting an upgrade over BI. People need to temper their expectations.

Addition by subtraction imo

This is false, though. Zion finally took the step to be our consistent #1. Cry all you want about it, but Ingram has been our best player in hundreds of games since Zion was drafted. He has also been our best player in games that Zion has played, so stop with all the stupid.

Well, your opinion is generally terrible.

What about a head coach swap too?

There have been very few games where BI and Zion both played where I thought BI was the better player.

No offense man, but your ridiculous bias hate for BI is silly and I doubt anyone takes anything you say seriously b/c of it.

Just b/c someone is saying BI was the best player on the team isn’t the same as saying BI is a great best player, or #1. If he was, we wouldn’t be trading him. He can be a good #2 on a great team. He’s proven he isn’t a #1 on a great team, and that’s ok. It doesn’t mean he’s a terrible player b/c he had to be our #1 for 4 and 3/4ths of a year b/c we drafted a lazy fatass who just started caring about being serious to be a great basketball player.

And sure anyone could use Suggs and his defense, but that’s not what we need back in a BI trade as the main get.

Ok, and that's going a bit far.

I'm sure you'd agree that insinuating we'd have no use for Suggs is also going a bit far in the opposite direction, so not sure why you made this statement to call one out that was not posted in this thread but ignore the other one that was.

I meant a better player than Suggs, Isaac, or Mo Wagner.

I think people are really underestimating Suggs. He’s a fantastic fit with the current roster and he’s done exactly what you want to see young guys do, he’s gotten better every year. Say he takes another jump to 15/16 points per game next year, you break up your three primary on ball below average defensively franchise pieces with a guy that can play on or off ball, whose a hell of a defender, and is still young and getting better like I said. I absolutely love the thought of Suggs.

10th in DPOY voting, 40% from 3, 60.2% TS%... 3 years younger than Herb Jones...

The notion that we'd have no use for that dude and no spot in the rotation is laughable

Put it this way, we should all be over the moon elated if Dyson at any point in his career gets to be as good as Suggs was last season.

Like Suggs a lot but don’t think he’ll be available .

I see the fit appeal of this, but you are taking a quarter and getting like 3 dimes and 2 nickels back.

Someone like Dejounte Murray has fit and is another quarter. If we give up a quarter without getting one back, it will be harder to acquire one in the future if good fit isn't enough.

Also, why do people think Suggs is such a great fit. It looks like his strengths are defense and off ball play. His drive and assists numbers are terrible. Especially with BI going out, we need someone coming back that can be a play maker. This trade makes the team's biggest existing flaw, the flaw that smart and tough teams used to shut the Pels down every time, even worse.

It’s why I’ve been pushing to get Trae off the Hawks instead of Murray. At this point though, I’d be focusing on one of those two unless some team blows you out of the water with something unexpected.

I think the trade would help both teams with better fits.

Who has said this?

And ok so let’s bring him in. He’s starting over Herb, or CJ? Is he taking Treys starting spot?
He’s a good role player sure, but that’s not what anyone should be looking for in a return for BI.
