plain and simple.
That's probably a fair assessment. Venom and Morbius teaming up as an anti-hero team would have definitely gotten 10 year old me pumped up.

I’ve now seen three social media people that would typically find SOMETHING nice to say about a superhero movie all say this is probably one of the worst movies they’ve ever seen. It must be really really bad

I know, right?
Here's to hoping it somehow manages the "so bad it's good" tier

I’m waiting for is the Cosmonaut Variety Hour review of this movie. He’s got an ongoing series of “Worst Superhero Movie Ever” videos. (I’m a fan of the guy. He’s insightful and isn’t a drooling fanboy or a “muh woke” type)
I'm a pretty big fan of his stuff. I don't always agree with his opinions, but he's pretty non-political, generally measuring a movie based on certain criteria. He's a huge comic fan, so he can usually point out when a character in a movie is true to the comic version or goes off the rails (and not as in being exactly the same, but rather if the movie remembers a core concept of the character or not).

MOST actors seem to despise acting in front of a green screen.
Green screen is fine for kids movies, but adults can clearly tell it's fake and for me it just takes me out of a movie

Superhero movies are dead.
Real actors are doing smaller budget more traditional dramatic stuff.

That's true; but in this case I was more referring to the actors. I imagine it's different when they only have to do a few scenes and there's stand-ins (not that it's the best example, but Jar-Jar Binks had the voice actor standing with the regular actors, but wearing a fake head so that they had something to look up at to maintain focus). Not quite the same as, say, a fight against something that realistically couldn't have a human stand-in (like the fights against the creatures during Infinity War/Endgame).
For your classically trained actors, I imagine it's extra brutal when there's no one for you to talk to.

I didn't really read comics books as a kid but have seen most comic movies that have come out in this Marvel universe (save for Venom 2 which is on my watch list). Yes, that includes Morbius.
What is this movie about? I haven't even heard of this.
Just to give you a gauge of my tolerance, I didn't hate The Marvels.

It's not a direct port from a comic story (as that one involves Peter Parker Spider-Man, Superior Spider-Man, Miles Morales Spider-Man, etc.) It's a hybrid of a few things:
1. The original Madam Web was an older woman who had special gifts to predict the future. She was involved in a few Spider-Man stories over the years.
2. This movie appears to feature a younger version of her (as opposed to the new Madam Web, a former Spider-Woman (Julia Carpenter) who was introduced during the 1980s event Secret Wars (not to be confused with the current Spider-Woman who wears the red suit, this one had a black costume).
3. The other women are other "spider-people" from the comics: Two other women who had the title "Spider-Woman" and Araña (the third one).
4. The apparent antagonist is a character by the name of Ezekiel, who in the comics was not a villain but tried to help Peter when Morlun went after him.
5. A whole story event where Morlun's family is hunting down various Spider-people from all the universes comes a good bit later.
This looks only loosely connected to that original story arc. It's possible they're saving Morlun for a Spider-Man movie, but honestly he has so many much more recognizable enemies that I'm not sure they will bother (unless the whole point of introducing a slew of Spider-people is to setup a larger battle).
I haven't looked into the various "who owns who" to see how much that plays into which characters are being introduced and who's being left out, but it definitely is a reason why so many movies are either Spider-Man villains or Spider-people heroes.

Man, it seems like Sony is just cobbling together the most random shite for a Spider-Verse movie. It's like trying to make dinner when all you have is rice, Hawaiian punch powder, capers and Tic-Tacs.

When your own star is bashing it in advance that is generally not good

Some of this is overstated. Actors in non-CGI movies have always talked to a stand-in actor or physical mark when they are the only one on screen when delivering their line. It's not that much different than a CGI scene.

Listened to the Midnight Boys podcast (from The Ringer) this morning which featured their instant reactions from the movie and holy shite did they go in deep on this one. I almost can’t wait to get drunk and watch this on streaming one day based on how bad they said it was.
Apparently, they said the girls don’t even wear their spider suits in the movie

I listened to the big picture this morning and Sean and Amanda both shite all over it. Like in a “one of the worst moves of the decade” cutdown of it

Sean Fennessy might be the most pretentious person who discusses movies on a regular basis but in this instance I'm guessing he's 100% correct
