What is harder than hitting a baseball?
Hitting a 2" disc into a net from distance?
The highest career shooting percentage for NHL scorers is Craig Simpson who played from 1985-95, and made 23.66 % of them.
NHL & WHA Career Leaders and Records for Shooting Percentage on sportsreference
Stopping a 2" disc traveling 80 mph is much easier than scoring goals.
The highest career save % is Dominik Hašek*, who played from 1990-08 and stopped 9223 % of shots.

Hitting the baseball is very hard. There is nobody that can stop you from hitting a pitch. That’s more of a one on one duel with the pitcher. Hockey is different because there is so much going on in front

They don't fail to hit it 70% of the time, they fail to get "a hit", meaning they don't get on base. That's two different things.
A good "Hitter" hits the ball where no one can catch it. You do that by hitting it into gaps.You hit it between infielders, or you hit it over the infield but in front of the outfield, or maybe down a foul line. That's the job..

None of this has anything to do with who's the biggest, the fastest or the strongest. It has nothing to do with whether it would be harder for anyone from one sport to play another sport. It's about what's harder to do for any one person.
If you take one guy of any athletic ability, it's going to be harder for him to develop the skill of hitting a baseball than it is to do anything in football or basketball.

Most guys at the baseball All-Star game would get schooled trying to play in the NBA.

Most athletes in one sport would have trouble playing another at a high level. Hence what Bo and Deion were such a phenomenon in the 90s.

most all-stars in any sport would get schooled trying to play another sport at the highest level professionally. There are very rare exceptions.

The skill sets needed to hit and field competitively is the rarest in sports, no doubt.

I worked with a guy that played quarterback at a small D2 school. He came out to play on our softball team and threw the ball like a 9 year old girl. Later at a work picnic, he showed up with a football and I swear his tight spiral looked like Brett Favre. 25 years later I still don't get it. Watching CJ Stroud throw a baseball is the same thing
