I was at the 2000 PGA Championship at Valhalla. It was Nicklaus's last PGA Championship and he was paired with Tiger. It was an unbelievable week as a 12 year old golf fan.
John Daly signed an old college golf card that I had of his. He stopped dead in his tracks when he heard us say Arkansas.
Then Tiger and Bob May on Sunday was absolutely electric. That was the first time I can remember someone going head to head with prime Tiger and not blinking. People used to just wilt when Tiger turned it on.
If I had thought of it being at Valhalla this year I might have tried to get out there. Still haven't quite gotten used to the PGA not being at the end of Summer.
