Agreed.

I think the argument is probably Barbe 2014 and Catholic 2024 for “best” - but like I said earlier, that is a tricky term.

Catholic definitely had the hardest schedule of the two but that was because, as someone mentioned before, you would get punished for playing out-of-state in the power rankings before last year. This change is just going to separate the top programs even more, now. Those schools are going to play more and more national level tournaments which will attract more and more kids.

Almost guaranteed to be not true. Every school has kids from outside their attendance zone.

doesn’t have kids moving in from other areas to play sports

Great programs attract players. Not sure why this an excuse for other schools lack of success.

and doesn’t hold kids back.

Will see how the new rule changes things. It’s only be in effect for one year.

bullshite, every school takes out of zone kids and you don’t have kids moving to the district cause the program is not good. Do you think barbe was built on kids moving in? This team only had 1 move in for sports and that’s the freshman. The rest have been there

Barbe only has one hold back is,almost every kid graduates at 18 from there with a few May birthdays graduating at19 every once in a while. Nothing like west Monroe and if it’s so effective like yall claim then how come yall aren’t doing it so your kid can get scholarships?

Everyone is playing by the same damn rules. Can’t get upset if you decide to handicap yourself

And if we are recruiting so hard then why does Sam Houston have as much talent as barbe, why does St. Louis have multiple kids that could start at barbe, why does Sulphur, why does south beau have a pitcher that would be #1 for barbe? Westlake has a kid that absolutely would have started last two years on barbe and would next year.

I hate this stupid add argument…..it’s essentially all the good teams must be cheating and playing by different rules otherwise we would be just as good kind of thing. It’s dumb

Barbe wasn’t shite when glen arrived, didn’t win his first title until like year 12 or 13. Didn’t even have an outfield fence and has built the facilities to be the best in the state by far. That along with having top team and busting his arse to get kids scholarships attract kids tends to get kids to go there. But don’t get it twisted as I proved earlier 99% of these kids have been in slc since they were small

Those mid 2000’s central private teams were absolutely loaded

Not sure how anyone ever beat those guys

That was quite a culture shock for my team when we went down there

One of the 2A teams that won state at Farmerville had John Albriton who was the 2A player of the year and Reuben Tatum who was the 3A player of the year two years later when they won state. The year between they lost the state championship game. Tatum was on all three teams.

I'm just kidding, but Coach Larry Stegall hat an impressive run in the mid-70's at Farmerville.

True whether they know it or not…. Including two teams that won 5A titles. Had at least two kids from neighboring parishes - yet have voted for split every time.

Not only 1 parish over but two school zones into said parish

Rummel 2001 was baseball America’s number 1 for a while. Some baws from St Amant ambushed them in the semis

They had 2 mlb’ers, 4 yr starter at LSU, all conf CF at Tulane, another lsu pitcher, another guy taken in 2nd rd, etc etc

Yea they were number 1 for a while that year. From 99-01 they lost about 10-12 games total & won the Catholic league b2b2b.

Ran into some excellent barbe teams in 99-00 & st Armant in 01(who lost to barbe iirc).

2017 WM was ranked #1 and lost in the finals to Central due to one freak half inning. Central scored all 4 runs on a total of 1 hit. Won 4-2. Every starter on that WM team went D1 except Jacob Pearson who was drafted in the 3rd round. They went 39-3, but if you don’t win it all, you’re immediately removed from discussion though.
