I could get behind that. Matter of fact have a road course trophy, oval, short track, and speedway.

Speed Channel. Speed Sport 1 app carries them, though I can't find the races in Perth this weekend.

I'd rather not pay for SuperView, but their races are outstanding.

Some silly season tidbits I heard on DBC Kaulig and Trackhouse merge. Stewart-haas may be selling the entire team. SHR may not exist. Custer to Front Row Briscoe to wood brothers with Ford support Gragson is in HIGH demand Nothing on Berry or Preece

I would like to see RFK expand to 3 cars. I think Briscoe or Gragson would be a great fit.

I don't mins it, kind of looks like it will be similar to the Xfinity dash for cash. Non-points bearing, but a $1MM check for the winner. Will use the 3 Amazon races for seeding drivers 1-32 and then have an 'elimination' style tournament over 5 weeks where the drivers will have head-to-head matchups culminating with the winner taking home $1MM. I like it.

I like it also. I think it gives some juice for the middle part of the season. For example:

It widens the door for gambling. Just like March Madness, it will add the opportunity to not only bet on the overall race but on head to head matchups. Other than baseball and maybe golf, there isn’t much to bet on during the summer months.

Don’t know what 5 tracks they are going to pick but let’s face it, a lot of tracks during the summer months are boring tracks. This could give a little more juice to some of these tracks.

Finally, it has the possibility to create drama and spark some rivalries. You could have 2 drivers battling each other late in the race and a late caution comes out. A final pit stop could happen and it comes down to who wins the battle off of pit road. You could have a scenario like the 5 and 17 at Kansas or what we saw at Darlington this past weekend.

Stewart-Haas may keep the Xfinity team and leave Cup altogether was last I read. Front Row becomes a 4 car team and so does Trackhouse.

Daily Downforce reported that.

Jeff Gordon for Road Courses.

I'd make DW the short track. He probably won half his races at Bristol and Martinsville

I think it has to be Big E. Not only does he have 13 wins, but also had 45 top 5's at superspeedway races. Also could see Fireball, he had 4 wins but only ran 11 races at Daytona (Talladega wasn't open yet).

Petty won 10 Cup races at Daytona to Dale's 3.
I picked Pearson because he excelled at Darlington, and for a long time, the Wood Brothers only raced at the big tracks. Gurney, because he won 4 straight at Riverside in the 60s. DW would also be a good choice at short tracks.

Different era especially on the superspeedways vs the last 40 years. In Pearson's lone 500 win he and Petty were 2 laps up on 3rd place, they wrecked and Pearson crossed the line after restarting by driving the length of the tri-oval going under 30mph. Meanwhile Petty had to be pushed by his pit crew and they still managed to get his car across the line before third place had completely unlapped himself. Not to detract from that era and the drivers of the era, but four cars at most would unload able to win and most races only one of those would survive until the end. I'd argue the 80's and 90's were they heyday of the sport and especially at the superspeedways and Big E was the king during that era.

Dale Sr won FOUR races that matter at Daytona. Busch races, Clashes, qualifiers, and IROC races don't count for shite.

ETA. Three. You're right.

There is a whole nother superspeedway right off I20 where the best to ever race there is undisputed.

IROC and Busch races in the 90's were more competitive than most of the Daytona races from the late 50's until the mid 70's.

Three, and he had bad luck in the best era for superspeedway racing. He also has the most laps led at the track despite having raced the equivalent of 10 less 500's than Petty.

Big E finished top 5 in half of the races he entered at the cup level at superspeedways. Petty, Fireball, Pearson were all exceptional drivers who excelled at those speedways. It doesn't change the fact that he was the best at that style of racing.

Bad luck is bad luck. Wins are wins.
Half the field at Busch races were guys who weren't going any higher in the sport. So he won a bunch of races against part-timers and never-weres. Color me unimpressed.

His laps led at the cup level is tops for both the superspeedways. His top 5's is second at Daytona and tops at Dega. Those are cup numbers.

Let's also not act like the open fields with 60+ cars wasn't predominantly part-timers and never was during the Grand National Days.

I guess I assumed his numbers and the way he was regarded by his counterparts at the superspeedways was universally accepted. Everyone is certainly welcome to their opinion, and I will just say in my opinion no one was better at the superspeedways than Big E. There are certainly those with comparable resumes and certain stats that were better, but as a whole he has the most impressive resume IMHO.

Nascar adding in season tournament, whatever the hell that involves. More gimmicks.

So the Cup Series will have an in-season tournament champion, a regular season champion and then the actual champion?

That’s a bit too much, imo.

10-4.

May have to come verify and check out the changes at KM and make sure they didn't forget how to make a burger while they were doing everything else.

We should send this idea in to the Dale Jr Download and see if he will talk about it.
