Everything’s going good. It’s going where the LSU golf course is across from Alex Box

A good talking point for a month. Don’t think it gets done anytime soon, don’t see the financial benefits for the university or state.

I am finding people with this view are usually very low-information. They can’t analyze an issue and intelligently talk about it other than parroting what they hear other low-information people say.

This thing is going to happen, and it will likely happen in less than 5 years. It won’t be built with public money, and LSU will have the nicest arena in the SEC.

I really hope you are correct, but there is far more evidence that suggest it will be a total clusterfrick, with political forces and gains being involved. And then at the end it will leave a lot to be desired.

But I hope none of that happens. Just won't be optimistic until it does.

EXACTLY RIGHT!! And most that post negative things on this message board are trolls and undercover fans of other schools scared sh#tless that LSU is getting ready to land a premier state of the art arena at no cost to the state. They fear this will bring in more fans and help as a recruiting tool to bring in talent for the teams that play there.

Who could be against it?!?!?! Only people that hate the LSU teams that play there!

From what the big picture looks like they are seeking a multi entertainment center and hotel proximity so it won’t be on LSU campus. Big mistake; loss of lots of student fan support on campus.

Isn’t it pretty obvious how LSU is planning to do this? The school will own the arena after the 30 year lease ends and will be a public-private partnership.

We should all be elated the state’s tax dollars are going to something tangible everyone can enjoy. If the University of Texas and Austin think it’s a decent idea maybe we should follow suit

They are building the arena on LSU’s campus. It is going to lead to investment in tiger land and fix that mess.

All of the details are available how are so many of you making pessimistic conclusions? I trust Woodward gets this across the finish line

I thought that LSU would donate the land and a private developer was going to build the project with private funds. Has that changed and now tax dollars are involved?

LSU will donate the land and in return own the arena after the lease. The school has a ton of land that’s perfectly fine.

That’s what I understood; so why bring up tax dollars? No tax dollars will be used, right?

Because when you are dealing with the state they typically find a way to screw it up. Like I said, I hope this is a top tier facility, that ends up being a huge benefit for everybody involved. I'm just going to have to see it before I believe it.

I don’t disagree with that, just happy tax dollars are going to something beneficial to the state and university

it will take 4-5 years but its cleared and will happen. LSU is providing the land, private person is funding the build. LSU uses it for games/events. When not in use by LSU private owner will be making bank on events. And of course LSU is not in st. George so they won't see a penny of that money

I too believe it will happen, and I was in total agreement with you until the nicest arena part. It will still need a blessing of some sort (real or imagined) from La. politicians and will be held hostage at some level to ensure this blessing. These hostage negation's will in turn cause private investment funds to be funneled away to the extent that, to ensure profitability, corners will be cut and we will be left with something less than the best.

If for some reason this doesn't happen, I would expect us to start a locust and four horsemen at the facility opener.
