Coveted? lol I can see him getting blown off the ball already in the fall.
Have you seen LSU’s defensive tackle situation? Converting offensive lineman to defensive lineman, lol. Adding weight to defensive ends to play tackle. He is very much coveted at least for depth and some experience.

I’m ok with the downvotes on this one. If the numbers are true about DW then frick that and he’s not worth it neither was Barrow. We’re just at a place with the portal and HS recruiting.
Those stats are fine for a defensive tackle in his freshman and sophomore seasons. If he was effective he was most likely double teamed on most plays. That’s something that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet. If he frees up the linebackers to make plays. LSU needs depth badly at d-tackle.

I’m gonna have faith because I saw a stat sheet that DW didn’t do shite against OU and Texas so

No disagreement here. Build and develop through the HS ranks. Let Bo.cook.. its why we brought him home

Don't risk alienating half your team by overpaying 1 year portal mercenaries

Wonder what Suggs price was. Interesting we weren't in his top 4 few weeks and now.we land him

Gordon apparently had $500k/ea for Maason/Wingo to come back so surely we used some of that to.bring in Paez and Suggs

Should read, LSU settled for juco DT because they couldn't land any big time recruits at DT

Not sure what everyone’s saying but I’m cautiously optimistic

You should probably be pissed like Captain and half the other posters are that a DT that LSU offered committed to them. LSU would be better off if he had chosen Michigan

Exactly. Dude probably won’t be all SEC but he’s a guy with experience and that’s what we need

Damien Lewis came to LSU from JUCO NW Mississippi CC and he was All SEC. Mopped up on Alabama, Georgia and Florida.

Et tu Captain?

FTR, I think this is a good get. There guys with more D1 experience and like everyone else I wish we had hit on the top two targets, but I think Suggs could work out pretty well for us as a solid piece if not a superstar.

Of course I am an eternal optimist when it comes to LSU athletics AKA

He was sought after by a heap of top programs including Michigan, USC, and Florida State. He has prototypical size, good film, and good production. He is also 22ish years old, a grown arse man, and still has 2 years of eligibility. He will be a very large contributor for us this year.

Quit being a douche bag just to be a douche bag.

I'm not seeing a $1,000,000 drop-off in value between Damonic and Suggs either.

You were probably one of the posters complaining that we wouldn't pony up enough to get Barrow or Williams....even though they aren't significantly better options.

^^. This. When a guy learns how to make plays, that just doesn’t go away against better competition.

It’s gets more difficult to do, sure. He’ll have an impact.
