they were hovering outside of top 5 until today, final round.
It will come down to Duke, LSU and ohio st for that final spot
Connor Gaunt tied for individual lead at -5

First good weather day of the regional (i.e. little to no wind) + greens that are still somewhat soft from the rain a few days ago + the 4th time these guys have played the course (including practice round) = LOW scores.

Auburn is -14 (collectively) after sitting at -1 after the first two days.

After a rough day 1 it looks like the home course advantage is kicking in for LSU.

Auburn flying out of the gate today. -15 thru 16 holes. Showed why they’re the 1 seed. LSU made 2 bogeys now behind Ohio St.

I believe the sites were already set in advance, not ranking based.

Lead down to 2

At least LSU's score shouldn't get worse. Only golfer still on the course according to the live tracker is Gaunt who is sitting at T2 for the regional.

eta: Spoke too soon. LSU with only a 1 stroke lead. What is the tiebreaker? Sudden death with the 1's?

Yep, Gaunt bogeys his last hole. Houston's #1 still has a par 5 to play.

Not sure who has the tiebreak or what it is. Don't know if they playoff or if it's a scorecard playoff.

Edit: Houston's #2 bogeyed 18 so De Le Fuente will have to finish birdie birdie to tie.

I don't think that counts today. Haskew shot +8 and finished at +13. That's terrible, especially considering it's on LSU's home course.

I guess they could be worse. Could be Arkansas Pine Bluff who might finish at +120.

Houston gives one back. Up two with 3 holes collectively left to play.

And they birdie...

Houston just dropped a stroke. LSU is up 2 strokes and Houston has only one golfer left with 2 holes to play. At worst they are in a tiebreaker, but they are probably safe.

ETA: Sorry, they had 3 holes left. They got a birdie to close back to within one stroke with 2 to play.

Yea I didn't realize they had a 2nd guy still on the course as well. Both on 18 now. We'll take two pars please.
