Since 1999 no 12 win SEC team has got in a regional is all I’ve been seeing. I am curious, how many 12 win SEC teams have our Criteria of work out of conference play? 22-3 OOC record with wins over Sunbelt champ - ULL, #25 Texas, Bubble team - Xavier, Louisiana Tech.

If we went 12-18 we would be 4-6 Overall in SEC Series and I think in the past a 4-6 SEC series team has gotten in. As well as the RPI would be in the 20s, put that alongside maybe a win or two in Hoover and I don’t see why LSU couldn’t be the first.

Only like about 30-35% of 13 win teams have gotten in. Even if we get to 13 win nothing is guaranteed. Nothing.
I don’t understand your post.

If we don’t sweep Ole Miss we don’t have a prayer. Even then I would think we need a win in the tourney.

This team is not built to win a regional any way. We have made our own bed with crap play

I am pretty sure the graphic showed that a couple of 12 win teams got in but zero 11 win teams

In 2021 Alabama got in @ 12-17. They also won 2 games vs ranked teams (#24 South Carolina & #4 Tenn) in the SECT.

LSU wins 2 this weekend and 2 in SEC tournament should be enough.

If LSU wins the series this weekend they’d have an outside chance at getting in but they’d have to do some RPI building in the SECt. At 12-18 we’d probably need to get our RPI into the top 25 to have a shot at being the last team in or so. Maybe making it to the final of the SECt could do it but I still wouldn’t hold my breath.

All 3 12 win teams that got in were 12-17 because they missed a game. LSU isn't getting in at 12-18.

Our RPI is 34, if we sweep Ole Miss (RPI24) we have a pretty good chance we end up in the high 20s. Especially if a few mid/upper 20s teams lose a few games or get swept.

In the SEC here are two prime candidates to lose their series.

Florida(11-16) RPI 29 plays @Georgia(16-11)

Vanderbilt(12-15) RPI 28 plays @Kentucky(20-7)

Here are the teams between LSU and Ole Miss in the RPI rankings

24 Ole Miss SEC 27-24
25 San Diego WCC 37-13
26 Arizona Pac-12 32-18
27 Xavier Big East 28-23
28 Vanderbilt SEC 34-18
29 Florida SEC 26-25
30 Nebraska Big Ten 32-18
31 Northeastern CAA 34-15
32 Louisiana Tech CUSA 38-15
33 Southern Miss. Sun Belt 34-17
34 LSU SEC 33-20

I haven't taken the time to see who they all play but only a few teams losing series and LSU winning or especially sweeping theirs will get them in the 20s.

Does any of that get them in the NCAA T, I am not sure. We will have to wait.

Keep seeing this graphic but since 1999 is irrelevant. For about half that period only 8 teams made the SEC tourney and you weren’t getting in the NCAA if you didn’t even make the SEC. What’s actually relevant is the statistics since the SEC moved to a 12 team tourney

If you need all of these scenarios and metrics to get invited to a regional, you don't deserve to be going.

This plays into my weekend scenario. We win the first 2 games and the 3rd is rained out. LFG.

No 12-18 team should ever be considered for the postseason.

Especially one that is the 11th team in a 14-team league.

You should personally drive to Oxford and revoke their 2022 CWS trophy.

What will be interesting is if the records after this weekend are

LSU 35-21 12-18
Ole Miss 28-26 12-18
Florida 27-27 12-18

Very possible with LSU and UGA winning home series 2-1.

UF with series win over Tigers
Tigers with series win over OM
UF and OM did not play

SECT wins may be a deciding factor, but I don’t know much about what committee considers the most.
