Bo didn't have to worry about that at UT. Just curious what this does to asst coaches.

Yes they aren’t leaving. They know that BK has the big picture in mind and is playing the long game for continued success.
Think about it, soon Congress or whatever powers that be will make players either sign contracts and likely put caps on all this. Then where will Ole Piss, OU, and aTm be when they can’t just over pay for talent because everyone will have to play by the same rules? LSU will be able to show incoming freshmen and high school kids that we built with guys like you that we want to groom you for bigger pay days in the league, not hire one year mercs to come in and take your spot because we paid them a dollar you got a dime.

I don't think this will ever happen because lawsuits will be coming at an alarming rate.

Why is the LSU fan base so butt hurt about this not buying players. Yet last year you laughed when Jimbo got FIRED for buying player and LOSING. LSU baseball bought the best roster almost available and may not even make the tournament. I’ll bet you whatever you want to bet Ole Miss will be the next failure from buying players.
Yet you and many others are obsessed we didn’t buy players and over pay. Make it make sense to me besides the obvious. You hear one idiot spew “oh lsu is broke. Kelly can’t recruit whatever the retard statement of the month is and you blindly just run with it. Jesus Christ it’s sickening. Grow up.

Something will change however to govern this. The NCAA was stupid and had no plan before they opened Pandora’s box. However I think the AD’s, university President's, and conference powers that be see this has gotten way out of hand and know there needs to be some rules and from what I’ve read Congress is stepping in to help. From last I saw there was even agreement from the players representatives so it will happen sooner rather than later.

What an era of the fanbase. The same dolts complaining about the new era of college football are complaining about LSU not overpaying for players. The same people complaining about how nobody wants to play for the school anymore now want the program to disrupt any type of synergy the team currently has.

LSU has to develop underclassmen now?! The horror

Everyone is leaving, and the program is shutting down.

I agree that capping money won't be a thing. I do think contracts are coming though. I hope its 2 year contracts where the player and the school are locked in for 2 years given that the player meets conduct and academic standards. I doubt the contracts will have any monetary compensation as that will still likely be an NIL thing but the contracts will give both the players and schools some stability. After 2 years, you can get in the portal or sign at your current school for 2 more years. If you have a 5th year, you can either transfer or stay for the additional 5th year.

I don't think they can cap it or put it back in the box. The question is, how much is Jakeem Stewart worth in general and in LSUs view? That's a HS DT that we need to stay home and hopefully become a Louisiana legend.

If they allow schools to directly compensate players then yes they can cap
It either per player or by only allowing a certain amount they can spend total. But there needs to be severe consequences if schools cheat that cap or total. Like SEVERE!! Almost death penalty severe. But you are right about not capping what outside NIL they get but they make it a multi year contract to protect program and player from backing out early.

No one should want this. If the schools have to share revenue with players then most if not all non revenue sports will be done. Because if they pay the football players, then they need to pay the track runners the same amount. and if they pay men, then they have to equally pay women. NIL is the right avenue for the money.

Imagine being this upset over guys being highly overpaid and no guarantee to be impact players. These guys are the 5’s when the bar closes. Just relax a little, go home and see what happens

You should go look at the guys Bo coached at UT. They were not 5* talent coming in. He just built them into that.

Posts like this are what make this board BAD. So tired of this continuous crying about not paying. We ARE paying when we need to, but not when the player isn't elite.

Mike, I'll make sure to send you a box of tampons, just need your address...

Are you even paying attention? There is no more continued success due to the king game. Whatever that’s supposed to mean. The portal and NIL is just gonna get worse. Court rulings will just enforce that. This is the new reality. That’s why Saban left. Kelly sounds like he’s in denial.
