There are some people in this thread for whom the national championship game last year was the first game of basketball they had ever seen. The amount of negative, uneducated, and asinine statements on this thread is truly staggering.
Hey fella! I have been watching LSU women's basketball since the days of Julie Gross and Maree Jackson. You know how long ago that would be? Go look it up if you don't
You are right though .... the amount of asinine statements on this thread are truly staggering.......yours included

Lety Vasconcelos, 6’7, C, Fr. (1.1 ppg) surprised no one is talking about this freshman out of the baylor. she could be a 2nd cardosa in the making! she played with mjracle and janiah in high school. let her and del rosario be a joint project.
I actually came across highlights of Lety vs ADR:

Just looking at several films, Lety looks quicker and jumps higher that ADR. Lety is slimmer and can shoot mid-range, not just at the basket. But as a freshman, Lety hasn't been tested more than 5 minutes in a game at Baylor.
ADR has lost weight, hopefully she can work on her mid-range shots and jump higher for rebounds this summer. Rebounding and defense are areas where ADR can make a big difference. We will be losing big rebounding numbers and defense from Angel. Don't think Coach Kim will have 2 centers 6'7" on the roster (who were freshman). Over the years, she normally liked to have 2 tall posts, or 1 tall post and 1 center. An experienced tall post player is the greater need this year.

Apparently, Alabama landed someone today. Makes me wonder if it was Dauda, since they hired an assistant from Neighbor’s staff a few weeks ago.
Idk.

im seeing on other boards that yes, its dauda. but you never know, it's all talk until someone announces.
also hearing that cameron williams is likely headed to texas. lety vasconcelos could land at tennessee. and liatu to notre dame (but they signed some other big today, so maybe not).
still no word on barker...

that would be an interesting move. if you are being recruited by the top teams in the nation, would you follow an assistant coach to alabama?

raegan beers ended up at oklahoma. maybe dauda wants to stay close to home too. who knows? its all just speculation tho, right?

I give up. If we get zero bigs so be it. I certainly can't do anything about it so why stress. We will play with the roster that shows up.
So big girls go get your money and go WTF you want to. Have a good rest of your career

I heard Dauda is not interested in lsu so we won’t be adding her

1. Could very well be she wants to go where she gets the bulk of the minutes and is not part of a four player rotation where she will not start. Understandable.
2. Once again, do not discount the great negative recruiting job done by governor jethro bodine, which I believe we are seeing results of in the recruiting efforts of more than one LSU sport.

I have seen you mention this a few other times. would you mind elaborating. I am in the dark. thanks.

all it said was iowa had been in touch with her. i would imagine any program with a pulse has been in touch with dauda and/or barker. and they can make room on rosters when needed. i’m sure both players are both being highly sought after. heck, it’s completely up to them who they choose to visit or even call back!

when lsu was in the locker room before the iowa game, they "missed" the playing of the national anthem (basically bc it wasnt their turn to warmup on the court--it was iowa's). there was a national uproar bc the media made it seem like they bailed on purpose. governor got wind of this/caught up in the hype and wrote a letter to the lsu board that said that any athlete that was not present for the anthem should lose their scholarship.
...a month later, has he backtracked on anything???

We could have at least gotten a "Choot 'em" out of that frickery.

I really don’t think that’s a factor with 17-18 year olds.
