Which is exactly why we were not overpaying for DTs out of the portal. If they can be coached, Bo can turn a 3 star into a high 4 star.

This is just foolishness. If a 3 star comes in here and leaves as high second rounder it’s because he was underrated. Nobody has a magic wand that makes guys better. They can coach them up a little, and motivate them, but this is on the margins.

I honestly think this guy is going to get developed and blossom here under Jake Flynt and bo davis and get drafted. As far as how much that equates to lsu being a better defense I don't know

Saw this, too.Big difference between 282 and 295 for a DT. Hoping the latter is closer to the truth. Our program can help him put on some good weight, but we won't see the jump that we see from high schoolers, given he is an older kid that has been in a college program for several years.

Tyler Baron DE and Wesley Walker DB. Land those 2 and your defense looks a lot better they’re both plug and play starters. Baron will be 2nd best player on our defense. Would leave you with 1 more spot to add another DT or CB

He claims to be 295 so I’d say he is big enough. Wingo was only about 290, if he puts on say 5 pounds of good weight maybe but I think at his current size he is good to go.

6'3 282. I hope he can pack on at least 15 lbs of good weight before Labor Day.
the kid doesn't need 15 extra pounds, he's big enough at his current size. Going by his stats and all, he may use his size with his speed and quickness to get in the backfield and get sacks or losses for yards. A lot of really good DTs were undersized like that and used their speed and quickness to wreak havoc in the backfields. Players like future HOFer Aaron Donald and former Saints DT La'Roi Glover off the top of my head come to mind.
