You do realize this kid is already supposed to be going into his senior year correct?? So he’s really just moving to his correct grade.

Chris Jones is a good comp for Stewart. And that’s saying A LOT. Jones is a monster. A true game changer on the interior.

OSU has probably made the biggest impression on him, and is probably our biggest competition.

They can brag about NFL Dlineman recent like we can with WR's. I think the biggest thing is that he wants LSU to know that just because we're the closest SEC school to him, and just because we have some Purple Knights on our staff, he still wants to be treated like the #1 player in the country.

If we try to lowball him due to proximity or even relationships, he will certainly go elsewhere. He's worked hard to become, and remain the #1 player in the country, and should be rewarded for it.

Thankfully, we have experience in keeping the #1 player in the country happy. He wants the same effort from us that we put in for Underwood. As long as we do that, he will be an LSU Tiger.

Kelly and has shown, at least with high school kids, an innate ability to identify the things most important to recruit and highlight how LSU is the best place for them realize those goals.

He makes his decision in January, and we are in a good place with him despite OSU's desperate attempts to lure him up to the frozen north, and LSU still has plans for multiple visits with him this upcoming summer and fall. Thanos will be an LSU Tiger, as long as they use the Underwood playbook.

I’ll put Frank Wilson and Bo Davis up against anyone. Best Nola recruiter and DL developer in the country. Plus, the obvious need for DT’s and opportunity for immediate playing time. Come see us Thanos.

Doesn't exist. I've heard this about Chris Davenport, Fournette, Maason Smith, Freak Johnson, and a bunch of others and the majority don't live up to the hype or dont lead LSU to a NC

Not a popular opinion and mostly because it's true. DL in particular has been a a string of highly ranked busts. The next kid is always the one to break the trend. Meanwhile, we are still waiting.

quote:

People just don't understand this. They just want LSU to be Colorado so bad. LSU wants a sustainable course between Clemson and Colorado

This is a bad analogy.
Clemson is a cult and it's growing more and more obvious by the day with Dabo. Their prerogative to accept the inevitable bad ending as tradeoff for the success. They sold their soul in a sense. An extreme in this debate.
Colorado is a publicity stunt. Deion is over his head, knows it and refuses to admit it. Worse, he's a showman that's more concerned with the show than the actual product. Who goes to Deion for roster building advice? Using him as fodder in this debate is about as logical. Another extreme in the debate.
LSU fans just want to win. We pride ourselves as being an elite program and want badly to back up those claims. We are paying a staff very well to accomplish that. The least they could do is get us the players necessary to do that. How many years are we gonna say "wait til next year" before we make them show something? Who are we, the Cubs? We have philospshical differences on how to accomplish getting the players. For some next year isn't soon enough.

I get that this kid a physical freak. He needs more time in the weight room. He needs to play basketball or run track. There's room for some athletic growth. However, I'm never one to tell these kids "hey don't go make money".

I'm with you. I'll even go so far as to say this. Last year I was talking to a friend close to the program who said Dom McKinley would be a much harder pull than Stewart, and we see how that worked out ... so far anyways.

Stewart is to LSU as Colin Simmons was to Texas. We will not let this kid leave the state. The money will be there, the appreciation will be there.

Serious question. Is this a kid you'd brush aside your values for, and "buy" him? Cause I would.

He has market value. Not the same as “buying him.” A lot of the late TP guys just shopped themselves around without being an exceptional market talent.

All the people caught up on the "Buying Players" terminology are either too stupid to argue with, or too obtuse to be worth arguing with.

To say that we are "Buying" Stewart would be demeaning to the countless man hours every major program in the country has "spent" recruiting this kid and if you discounted every minute where money was the topic, there'd still be thousands of man hours invested.

If all it took were money, he wouldn't be Thanos, he'd be Ishmael Sopher or whatever his name was.

Right he is the Lamborghini in our dealership. We have the keys in the vault and we ain’t given anyone else the chance to kick the tires. He will go get test driven by all but our salesman will not let this ride off the lot until his title is signed. In our situation he is the MUST GET of all gets. He’s essentially the most important recruit in CBK & LSUs NIL career all due respect to Bryce Underwood. He will be a Tiger, he better be a Tiger or CBK will be shopping for future Nails for his coffin. With our DL situation and the money we’ve shelled out for this staff there’s only one outcome that will be tolerated.

Im sure a St. Aug kid would love Cali/USC. I think in the end Stewart will be a Tiger. But I don't expect it to always look like such on social media. LSU and BK will not let him leave the state, unless he's dead set on it. But he's not, thankfully
