Looking at replacing the siding on our home as some of it is starting to rot and they do not make this type of siding we have anymore. Has anyone ever tackled installing vinyl siding themselves? If so, how difficult of a task was it and is it worth hiring out? For reference most of the exterior is brick and only about 300 linear feet of wall would be vinyl. TIA.

Not hard at all, you will save lots if you DIY. You tube as the prior person said can make this easier. I advise you not to use staples as some like to use and it will create problems in the future. Use nails and do not nail the siding tight to the wall, in order to properly allow for expansion and contraction with the weather changes.
