I'm going to post my bloods on here in a thread when I get them done. I think the numbers will show good and bad - the good it will show what someone can do if they stop training for years and then rededicate themselves naturally and the bad it will show numbers that likely no matter what I do will always be on the low or high end from abuse but I can still be healthy as long as I do what needs to be done through diet and exercise. My last visit to doctor he could not believe how far all my 'numbers' had come back to normal but it literally took years to reverse many of them some were reversed during the 6 years of not working out and being lazy and the others that were still bad were reversed from getting back into fitness and healthy lifestyle. It is possible to do this and I tell people this all the time unless you have completely blown everything out you can make a change and correct it and be healthy it just takes time, patience, and work.

yep...there is some supplementation that can help too depending on what needs to be treated etc.

you can reverse the plaque too. dont let them tell you different. natt and pomegrante juice have shown this ability in studies multiple times.

Can a statin reverse buildup? Or does it just prevent further buildup?

correct 20% reduction in heart related issues that are not attributed to any weight loss. essentially for those that didnt lose weight, still saw 20% reduction

Could it possibly be from *how* they lost the weight, not necessarily just that they lost it? Maybe losing purely from a dietary reduction in food that this medicine induces is better than a slighter reduction and running the rest off on the treadmill? Maybe this drug plus exercise expand the benefits? I would like to see which of the population of those with better heart-related outcomes were exercising and how intense it was compared to the rest of the group. IDK, I'm just spitballing

Does it kind of alarm anyone else that these drugs have so many effects on seemingly every part of the body? It makes me wonder what we might find out about them long-term.

prevents, have never seen a study on any statin reversing buildup

only studies i have seen that show any reversal is Natt and then 100% pomegranate juice is the big one

they have been around for diabetes for 2 decades and have been being studies since the 80s. if there was some big side effect we would know by now.

so im not huge on making overall cholesterol the main focus, tend to focus on blood sugar, trig, and ratio but i do think its overall important.

i would recommend starting Nattokinase in the 4000iu morning and night for now and see how that affects your numbers after say 12 weeks.
Might also mention I had a calcium scan 2 years ago that was essentially zero (and the cholesterol reading that caused that to be ordered was 50 points higher than the most recent one.)

I thought the research showed that higher cholesterol actually was associated with DEcreased all-cause mortality?

well that changes everything...dont worry about it then. until you start showing build up, dont need to worry about it at all.

natt and pomegrante juice

I looked into natto and was a little concerned as my doc has me on a low dose aspirin and a statin after a high calc score years ago. Sounds like that stuff is pretty potent when it comes to thinning blood with some noted cases of bleeding and other nasty stuff. Sure they’re outliers though. Any thoughts on this?

I have been drinking the hell out of some Pom juice though. Publix sells Lakewood which is real juice. It’s $10 a bottle though and bitter AF.

no im serious

for some people high cholesterol doesnt seem to cause build up so there should not be any concern with slightly higher levels if HDL is high, ratio is in order, trigs and blood sugar are good

which you said they were and you are exercising and eating well...so unless something shows up on the comprehensive panel....i think you are in a really good spot

OK, thanks. Looking forward to Marek. It's a little bit of a fire drill getting it set up.

I'm enjoying it, it's like watching an old favorite movie....all the familiar characters, repeating their lines, classic.

Trying to figure out if “the shot” is right for me…

Office job by day, don’t stop moving til I crash at night between coaching kids sports, chores, and yard work. I try to eat better, little success or when I do I see no change. Same with working out. Love the rowing machine, can go at lunch but don’t see any changes. Mid 40’s. I know, lots of excuses. Company health screen, high bp, Dr put me on olemsartan this week. Everything else in my blood work was “normal” or within range. Sitting here mid 280’s, optimal weight for me is 220-230 10-12 years ago when I was running half marathons and had zero kids but a weak pull-out game and life going 240mph gets in the way of that type of training. shite, I’d be happy with 240’s at this point. Just need to drop 30-50 lbs that have creped up over the years that I can’t shake.
