I’ve also played South Course many times. Def a type of course that has guys playing music.

I think OP is just trolling. Kind of sad that he doesn’t have a more fun group of guys to play with

It’s tough for me too. I like the quiet of the course. Similar to the beach, I’d rather hear the waves than music.

I, thankfully, never encounter this.

I feel similar. I usually listen to music when I am doing something monotonous; driving, menial work, cutting the grass. Golf is already my favorite thing to do. I don't need to add something to it to make it more enjoyable.

Also, getting into my late 30s, I see my good friends less and less each year. When we are together on the golf course, I'd rather be fully into the round and the conversation.

I never mind when someone I am with plays music, but, if I had to make a choice, I'd rather have no music.

I love the quiet round alone. It gives me time to think and appreciate being out there. I also like the rounds when my buddies and I play music. I also do not like it loud though. Some of my favorite times on the course are when my daughters are riding with me and we listen to music and they are dancing in the fairways. Bring on the old men that will complain about that.

Put me in the camp that doesn't mind when someone plays music, like I already stated, but yea this just isn't true. The majority don't play music on the course, especially old people.

I think it is rude and classless to blast music from a golf cart at a golf course, unless it's a social tournament. Use goddamn earbuds if you want to listen to music. Chances are high that your music sucks anyway.

The carts where I play have bluetooth w/ speakers to connect & play music.

I honestly don't think I've ever seen/heard someone playing music at my home course, but it's pretty common most places. I think the thing that the OP isn't getting is that most people aren't "blasting" the music.

If you want to play music, play it loud enough where just you are hearing it. You're not playing music for other people to listen to. If someone else can hear it, it's too loud. But If you're mad at someone for playing music that you cannot even hear, you might as well be mad as someone that is listening to them through headphones because it's not effecting you in any way.

If I can I’m going to ask the marshal to have you turn it down. At that point you get 3 options. Like it, lump it, leave.

At my club the Marshall would tell you to buck the frick up.

I was not a big fan the first time someone in our group busted out some music….maybe 10 years ago. Since then I almost always play something real low unless anyone in my group is offended. More often than not each cart has their own music playing. The carts are also Bluetooth equipped with speakers so it’s very common. As said above, most everyone’s taste in music sucks except for mine of course

I've played music out of my cart for years. Normally, if we have a new golfer with us, I'll ask if they mind. I've not had anyone object yet, so I play it just loud enough to hear in and right around the cart.

If we get close to another 4-some, I'll pause it while they tee off.

Played an industry tournament last Friday down in Arkansas and all the course's carts had speakers installed.

Agree, this has to be a troll. If not, OP probably is still using a flip phone. Odd place for it though.

Sorry if having to act civilized is such a burden for you.

I’ve done it before in a scramble. But if I’m alone, I usually put my headphones in my ears and keep it to myself

No offense, but if you are posting this, you probably shouldn't think your opinion on the use of music on the course is commonplace.

To be clear, music in carts is the norm. If you are not into that, you are the exception. That's just the way it is now. Can't believe we've gone four pages about this.
