Getting back into golf. I’ve been having the same set of Callaway X20’s for the last 17 years or so. Grooves are getting worn on some of them, the shafts are starting to get rust spots. I believe I got everything I could out of these irons. I’d say I’m a decent ball striker. Don’t struggle hitting irons. I hit the ball flush so I think I can make the jump to a players iron. Been hitting over the last 4 weeks on my LM and really starting to get my swing back. I’d like to learn to work the ball so I decided on the zx5 5&6 and zx7 for 7-P. I have a ZX 2 UDI that I love. So decided to stick with srixon zx line. Found a good deal on a hardly used set. Don’t really want to pay to get a fitting and a new set of irons. I’d like to hear from anyone with zx7’s. How do you like them? Also was there a transition period from GI to a PI?

I'm the same. I have players irons. But if I could go back I'd get a mixed bag with more forgiving long irons. I hit my 6-4 really well and still wouldn't get all players irons if I had a do-over.

My plan is ZX5 in 5,6,7 and ZX7 in 8,9,pw

Or I may just go Takomo

I was going to pull the trigger on Takomo 201’s. But then I got this lightly used set for $550.

I recently got a set of ZX7 in 4-PW. Really enjoying them. Enjoying them more than the P790 set I had before.

I've gamed both the 5 and 7 series. I'm not a fan of offset and it messes with me so I went over to the 7's. The only real difference was forgiveness in low on the face strikes with the 7's, Both felt phenomenal. A wonderful forged iron.

I think you either love or hate the Srixon soles. I hated them. But lots of people love them.

I play a combo set of the originals . Love them. About to upgrade to the mk2’s since some of the irons have grooves a little worn.

Got my zx5 and zx7 irons in yesterday. Hit them on my LM. Distance is within a few yards of my x20’s. The zx7’s are easier to hit than I anticipated. Had no issues hitting them. They feel amazing compared to my older irons. Can’t wait to see how they do in the course.
