This is for anyone who is on the fence about the vaccine. I am a physician. What I have read on here about the level of disdain for healthcare professionals is disheartening. I can promise you that most healthcare professionals are good people, doing there best in an unprecedented time and situation. In the major metropolitan area I live there were 3 ICU beds available yesterday. There are now more patients admitted to the hospital than at any other point since this started. We are literally running out of beds and nurses to care for the patients. The overflow is saturating and filling up our emergency departments. And 95% of the patients admitted are unvaccinated. 50% of these people are under the age of 65. These patients stay twice as long on average as other people admitted to the hospital tying up a significant amount of resources. This is not up for debate. These are just facts. For the first time in my career I have been asked to delay cancer surgery. Its not just about the COVID patients, the downstream effects this has on other patients is devastating. Again, this is not meant to start an argument with people who are adamantly against the vaccine. You do you. But for anyone on the fence, I would implore you to consider getting vaccinated. The problem is that all of these Healthcare professionals base their conclusions on o e sided research.
Alternative research doesn't occur until Sokoloff and Sokoloff tell you to call their toll free number 15 years after the fact.

I can tell you why very simply. Physiology and Biochemistry is not rocket science. In fact, with the resources to learn available today…it’s really easy. And I say this as someone who studied it and actually declined medical school. It’s not hard at all.
So when the educated and informed masses, who really care and research are told they are wrong “because doctor” they tend to get pissed off.
The information and data is out there and people with working minds can call bullshite, bullshite without being “evil”

Regrettably many of those with the biggest mouths (mouths unfortunately amplified in the pandemic) are not such good people, certainly not from a medical perspective.

However, I would suggest you and your Medical Staff take responsibility for righting the ship, because none of this happened in a vacuum. Sit down with board members. Discuss administrative errors leading to your crisis. Hold those responsible for your system's lack of preparedness fully accountable. Don't allow the same mistakes to occur again.

Physicians - collectively - are deserving of disdain for not being truthful to their patients. Toeing the political line may be convenient, but you cannot yield to what is wrong and still demand respect from the public. BTW, ... whatever happened to influenza?
