They’ve seen how no one really wants to dine in at fast food joints so they can hire less people and make more money doing drive through only.

They better hire CFA as a consultant though

I would rather eat gas station food than wait more than 10 minutes in line for fast food. Gas stations are getting better and better.

Many times I've seen the drive thru at these "closed dining room" places wrap around the building and out of the parking lot, and I just keep on driving.

Running leaner to eventually switch to fully automation. Will be easier to implement without inside seating.

I'd go back if they brought back the deep-fried (not baked) pies and the cookies:

This right here. When that happens the teenager/college job market is going to get crushed.

Nah. I think Starbucks deserves more blame, but somehow they still get labeled a good corporate citizen. Seems like every fat and yappy Karen in the world drinks sugar bombs from there at least once per day.

McDonalds in my area actually serves hormone free fresh beef.

Not sure but I don't think the two nearest me have been opened since this stuff started. One was being renovated during most of that time so they had no choice but I don't use McDonalds much. Haven't had a sausage, cheese, egg mcmuffin in over a year.

Stopped by one this month in Montgomery Al on the way to free Florida to pick up some nuggets for the kids. Dinning room was closed.

But geniuses like AOC couldn't see that happening when pushing for a "living wage". McDonalds is a starter job for most, not a career.

Or they figured out they lost very little business with fewer employees and less upkeep. Don't have to clean the bathrooms every couple of hours, don't have to maintain the condiment table and tables stay clean or stacked. Wait until they install outside kiosks for ordering and require credit card only. That's another person or two you don't have to pay.

sure its covid, maybe its the fact that they cant get workers. Took my daughter to one last Saturday and they had 3 workers (and one looked like they were just a janitor). They dont have people working to handle both drive thru and dine in.

I see them going to this as it will save a lot of money on labor. I would guess future fast food joints will be built like checkers with no inside dining and just drive thrus.
