The Mid-South and Deep South are still somewhat of a secret. Outside of the cities, everyone gets along for the most part, cost of living is low, and access to services is good (most places). I'm fine with Californians, New Yorkers, and the like ignoring our "flyover country."

My California husband survived the below zero temps and the snow this winter in Arkansas.

He likes winters here. He doesn't like the humidity in the summer or the lack of tall mountains. I got him an RV so he can go to the mountains. I'll go with for about a month in the summer.
