Objectively truthful, and "biased", is where the 'great divide' is based. There are a ton of people who only get one side; they, are biased. I.e., uneducated and objectively untruthful. Many, on purpose, for Ideological gains.
On this Forum...we get both sides are argument/info to support chosen beliefs. If I want to know the News lowdown...I come here; because I know that someone will be go all in to post it first...and the expected (opposing side) will be quick to respond.
And it's fun here. Locker room version of substantive debate. Thanks to the Admins.

Yes, my wife and talked about this last night. We almost exclusively use TD for news. You guys find things and post them much faster and better than most "news" outfits.

I will give TD this, they are generally on the cusp of breaking news, I usually find out stories here before most major news orgs break them.
And the beauty of this site, is that if you post a bullshite story, you can easily be called out on it. If your article is biased, it is easily spotted. Having the internet at your fingertips to do independent fact checking of news articles makes accurate news reporting more easier to spot, and where FAKE NEWS goes to die.

There's no censorship of opposing views for the most part. I will disagree with the claim that biases are called out regardless of which end of the spectrum they come from, though.

It is a good place to find breaking news stories, but is also an echo chamber. Anyone that doesn't think Trump is the greatest is automatically labeled as liberal.

Hell, you don't even have to criticize President Trump to get labeled a liberal. Try calling out generalizations or arguing against suggestions that you are a "lesser-than" and see how that works out for you.

It is the best place for news but it certainly leans right.
As a person living in a progressive area this place is a welcome stark contrast. The news and opinion brought up here gets blank stares from many progressive friends (and no rebuttal) because they are not fully informed or can't see outside their bubble.
It gets news out quick. People kick the can around back and forth (many more from the right side only a couple from the left). But at the end of the day the topics at least get kicked around. That is what I appreciate about this place.

I get my news here first, I may agree or disagree with it, but either way it is here
dont confuse the entirety of "the board" with some dedicated posters that are here bashing the middle left and far left everyday. There are tens of thousands of users, but a subset of both sides are the loudest and most persistent in their posts. Makes it seem like there are more of them than there really are. Someone reads your post and agrees with you, they may not be inclined to post "i agree with you" but there will be no shortage of those that will post the opposite view.

People that go nuts and spam, will eventually get banned... I am certain that some that have been banned for spamming view it as their being banned for posting something left wing because they view themselves as the victim almost always...
Hell, you have a bunch of right wing folks sentenced to one thread when it comes to a particular subject...
Also, unless you say something totally out of line, you will generally get a warning before you get the ban hammer...
