quite the baller and turning down Centurion offers

Never been offered Centurion but put a lot on the Amex. Would not consider self a baller. If you spend a decent bit and just call them and tell them you want to go back to standard card, they will waive. That's all I can say.

I would venture to guess there are not a lot of us that will ever be offered the black one. I'm sure there's a couple around here, but I've heard rumors you need an annual income of over $1MM and significant spending amounts of $250k. Plus the fees are ridiculous at $5,000 just to join the club and then $2,500/yr. That's insane to me.

I cannot speak from experience. I just know what people write on Flyertalk and they are generally offered points or off the annual fee that equates to about half of the AF. and those folks say are spending about 100k a year. If you are getting the fee waived you have a sweet thing going and keep doing whatever you are doing right.
