I started getting into mushroom supplements. I’ve read some very promising reports on studies done on the effects on mental clarity, and other benefits. My main interest is mental clarity.

Does anyone have recommendation on brands or other info that I should know?

The Paul Stamets brand is certainly quite expensive. I'm pretty skeptical on all this stuff, personally.

I have felt results, more clarity and focus, from using Lion's Mane from FourSigmatic.

Any different than with caffeine, or pre-workout?

I tried Genius Mushrooms, a blend of Lios Mane, Reishi, and Cordyceps. It made me sleepy where others feel it makes them focus better. Reishi can lower blood pressure a bit.
Oh well, I gave it a shot.

Oh, I thought this was gonna be about "fun" mushrooms. Mental clarity....pfft....who needs that? I want to watch Pink Panther cartoons and laugh so hard I fall into a coma.

It’d be nice to at least be able to microdose the fun kind. It’s supposedly good for your overall sense of well-being.

Ordering to Alabama seems a bit risky. Worth checking out though.

This thread made me go dig out Mushroom1968's big thread about psilocybin and read all of that, then I decided to read all the other TD threads on mushrooms too, just because I wanted to know how the OT felt about magic mushrooms. That led me back to the Shroomery message boards because that's where you need to be if you really want to learn how to cultivate mushrooms at home, and now I'm reading about how to extract DMT from tree roots. It's been a weird rabbit hole today.

In the early to mid 90s in Shelby and Chilton Counties we just went to the cow pastures after spring and summer rain showers. I always heard at that time there were spores in the feed that some farms used. Don’t know if it was true, but we sure had our fun. Probably lucky none of us got sick too.

DMT from tree roots is higher than my pay grade.

I've always heard the shroom hunting in cow shite stories, but I've never seen it in person. We lease a large portion of our 50 acres to a neighbor that runs cattle so I've got a 25 acre piece of land that is littered with cow shite, but no mushrooms to be found that fit the profile of the mushrooms I'm looking for out there. I've heard people talk about fungicides in cow feed or maybe it's on the field itself from modern spraying, and that's why field hunting in cow pastures isn't viable anymore. I don't care, it just sounds easier to grow your own at home.

But to stay ON TOPIC here, my apologies for hijacking the "non-magical mushroom supplements" thread, but these other mushrooms are very interesting as well. I've always like fungi for some reason, I think they bring us good things. The challenge is finding a quality source. I'd love to homebrew my own mud/wtr kind of coffee substitute for daily consumption that would provide energy, focus, anxiety control, all the basket of good effects we all crave from our substances but are too fricked up by modern life to find within ourselves without substances. Awww, frick me, I'm in a mood.
