38K. It's just like politicians these days. They just blatantly lie to your face about everything and try and gaslight people.

No way a person could live a middle class lifestyle on $38K in LA, or $35 in MS. Defining "middle class" as above 2/3 of the median, when you live in a poor state gives very poor results.

I assume they mean lowest middle class?

38k even in Arkansas is going to hurt

and if you got a family to support, good luck

Also in the article.

Middle-class income range: $37,557 to $112,670

That's a hell of a spectrum. I can guarantee $37,557 is nowhere close to middle class. That is barely getting by.

Guess I’m the wealthy in NC, doesn’t feel that way.

Looking forward to Biden raising my taxes and telling me I don’t contribute enough.

Say you won't raise taxes on middle class and then redefine middle class.

The definition provided in the OP means the middle class can't afford to achieve the American dream.

LOL...right

My wife and I make about 150K-175K a year, and live in a low cost area of Louisiana....It is comfortable but certainly not well off. $38K is low for a single person, for a family, it is poverty.
