Garland isn't exactly a good fit in the sense that he becomes your #2 at $40mil a year and is not good enough to be a #2, so how do we become a contender with your #2 not good enough and on that salary?

He's a better on court fit than BI, but essentially we have the same issue as with BI...an expensive player who isn't good enough to be a #2.
