I was one of the few that wanted us to draft Garland, and I still say Trae. I think I’d take Murray over Garland just b/c of contracts.

We'll just trade him for Jax and NAW.

1. Klutch literally asked for a trade for Garland minutes after playoff loss.
2. Trae is more of an impact shooter- defenses will shift their coverage because of Trae most wont do with Garland.
3. But pretty bad
4. Not at all. Trae has averaged near 10 assists past couole if years.

Garland has also never been relatively healthy and for a pelicans team thats a big deal.

I only spoke of them as players.

This and Klutch are the 2 arguments against Garland

Neither is Trae

Shooting a better percentage doesn’t make you a better shooter. Herb shot a better percentage than Trey this past season, does that make Herb a better shooter than Trey?

I’ll give you this one

You think Garland had nothing to do with Rich Paul asking for that trade request? You can’t be this naive?

It puts you in a solid position for the discussion.

By all the accounts coming out, and the fact that this supposed franchise player is on the block, disagrees.

Garland can play traditional point guard. Trae cannot.

You're penalizing Garland for one of the things that makes him a better player than Trae.

I mean, I guess. Although things don’t seem amazing internally with the Cavs and we really don’t know how much of that is or isn’t Garland’s fault.

2. Better shooter

The difference is pretty marginal when you incorporate volume and difficulty of shot

3. Not a historically bad defender

Garland is not a good defender, but yea, Trae is worse. I think you have to hide both of them to an extent.

4. More of a playmaker

What’s the rationale here? I don’t agree with this at all. Trae is great at making plays for others

Even assuming you're true, there is a huge difference in an NBA player requesting a trade and an NBA player being a locker room cancer (and forcing the team to trade him).

CLE flew too close to the sun with the DMitch deal and it...let's just say created some friction in player overlap on the team.

Now if you want to talk about injuries or him possibly not wanting to be in a small market, those are legit. Trae has some injury history himself, however.

So Trae is not a traditional point guard but averages 10 assists a game??

Why do you think Garland wants out? According him hes not being maximized with Mitchell- meaning he wants the ball more. And the offense geared towards him. They just made the conf semis snd he wants out.
